G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

The 2 top brackets for CSL 2010’s are the silver North and Silver South

I believe the North has the better teams with Eagles and Ole. Not too sure how strong the other teams are. Maybe @PaPa805 can fill us in. But as far as the south the EDA team is prob the best one there, the team to watch out for. Formerly La Mirada

Legends put a beat down on slammers PA. I believe the final was 6 or 7-0. Legends didn’t play their top 2 forwards for about half the game. Should be fun to see legends vs SDSC next weekend. Any other results from this age group?

Week 2 games of the week...

SDSC vs Legends
Murrieta Surf vs Temecula Hawks (battle of North )
Galaxy OC vs Slammers PA
Albion vs Rebels
Eagles vs Ole

@Luis Andres what is your prediction/analysis of Eagles vs Ole game?

With one of our best players (forward) injured it’s going to be tough to generate shots at goal against their solid defense. If we can hold them to 1 goal we may have a chance to be in the game. If we give up more than that the Eagles will win. When you play a top team like the Eagles, the key is to have a solid defensive game because they will not give up more than 1 or 2 goals themselves.

As a follow up, where do you think your daughter will play? Defense? Would make sense if you want to keep it low scoring. Or center mid? Maybe generate some offense while still defending. Where would you like to see her play?

Not a chance Olé holds them to one goal after a 3-3 tie against MSA. Eagles Win 7-0.

Well If I were the coach I would start her at the center back position and probably play her there 75% of the game. And when Eagles bring in subs move her up to center mid to try to generate offense. The last game against them we lost 2-0. In reality the first goal was a clear offsides and the ref missed it. Got it on film. The second goal was legit as their midfielder confused our left back sucked her in towards the middle and it opened up their forward on the sides for a solid shot and goal. The forward that is injured from our team had 3 clear opportunity runs towards goal with passes from my DD from the center back position but their goalie did her job and found a way to stop the shots. I don’t see our team playing the same game they played against the MSA team because we’ve played the Eagles before and the coach understands the strengths and weakness of their players much better.

But to the Eagles defense they were missing one of their best midfielders cucpcake so she could be the X factor in this game. Pressing high and disrupting her game is key to disrupting their offense on this game.

No predictions on the score Eagles v. OLE
The games are always intense. I expect it to be the same this weekend. These are 9yr old kids after all...anything can happen. Should be fun to watch.

For me just being able to compete against a team like the Eagles is a win. From getting blown out 15-0 a couple years ago on our first game and now to be able to compete against them is an accomplishment in itself. The Eagles 2010 girls team is one of the best teams in California for the age group.
