G2010...how’s the season going 2019?

Welcome to the board @neo

Thank you for the welcome message. I've asked a few questions and everyone seemed friendly at first and seems like they do not want to answer? Am I doing the right thing by asking these questions here? or is this the wrong thread for these types of questions. I'm just saying this because a lot of the users online are looking at this specific thread and there seems to be no one willing to step up to the plate and provide recommendations and answers. If so I can go to the proper thread to get some answers. I don't have cooties lol just wanted to see what the general concensus was... Thanks

I got a name for a coach by Craig Barclay. Lastman says he is good. What do you guys think?

Yes, he's good. He's currently the younger girls director at Surf. I thought he would take over the 2010s in the 2020-2021 season but that doesn't seem to be the case. Likely the following season then if the coaching setup at Surf doesn't change between now and then.

Thank you. So it's a no go for him on the U11 team then? Do we know who is coaching the 2010's this up and coming season?

As far as coaches any suggestions of some of the ones you guys think are top notch and what clubs do they coach at.?

I would start by identifying the part of town you live. There are good programs and coaches all around town but at this age I'd suggest you start with what's closest to home and go from there. You don't want to be driving all over town unless a certain team/coach is the best fit for your DD.

Makes sense you are correct. I will be moving to Orange County.

What is GPS?

It's a new start up of an established soccer franchise. Unless it's right in your back yard and they'll for sure have a G2010 team you'd probably want to look elsewhere for now.

Ok, then CB and San Diego Surf, or any San Diego clubs that have been discussed here recently should be off your radar. Although I'm afraid I can't help with OC coaches. There are tons of clubs in OC though. Good luck!

If you are in OC, the top teams are Socal Blues - Rob Rennie, Slammers FC - Pete Aguirre (his 09 Team is Legit too), I would also check out CDA Slammers Huntington Beach (Jon Crowley) his teams tend to be competitive imho

There are many clubs in the OC -- Slammers, Blues, Pats, OC Surf, Strikers, Liverpool (formerly LAGOC) etc., many of which practice at the OC Great Park or surrounding fields.

Coaches that I often hear good things about in OC include Pete Aguirre, Craig Bull and Doug and Chuck Swanson, but there are probably more that I don't know about since I don't live in the area. If you are in the northwest part of OC, you could probably even consider Beach FC. Best bet is to look through various roll calls for the age groups and send a PM to forum members who have kids at the clubs you are interested in and see what responses you get.

That is a great idea sdb. Didn't think about that one.

Thank you Trojan. Very helpful and will add these names to my due diligence list. Like the Trojans say from my Alma Mater. Fight On!
