I should have been more specific about saying removed from ECNL. My thought was that ECNL may relegate the club down a level, so that their top teams will be competing in ECRL. This keeps them in the loop to give a chance for them to rebuild, and get promoted back at some point. Problem is that Sporting USA California has been on a steady decline over the past few years, and this season has been a shitshow for them. If they got relegated within the league, that domino effect pushes all the teams down a notch; with the current loose association of teams, that could cause a mass exoduse from the club, resulting in the countinued implossion. It would probably be better for ECNL to just rip the bandaid off. This is just speculation on my part from watching the SoCal landscape closely for over a decade.

ECNL would probably force Sporting to merge with another club before booting them from the league. This is how they've been addressing non performing clubs recently.

This makes sense from a club perspective because if ECNL was to boot a club from their league it would essentially put them out of business because other big leagues likely wouldn't take them in.

From a girls ECNL perspective with City you'd have 99% of the top clubs in Socal playing in their league and you'd be taking away one of GAs top clubs.

From a GA perspective you don't want to lose City so they're giving them whatever they want. Preferential seeding, second GA teams, additional talent id spots, etc.

CitySC was LA Galaxy was Carsbad Elite was Carlsbad Lightning. If the same people are running CitySC and ECNL, I will be very surprised if they get ECNL.

From what I hear, they are going Rebels b/c FCGS SD is going to Rush, and MD already has a Rebels G09 ECRL team with his CB girls. So he's taking his girls and boys teams to Rebels to give them a pathway to ECNL/ECRL which they didn't have with FCGS SD. Seems like a good opportunity for north county players who play for Vista, Breakers, Express or are on City's extended bench to be able to have a chance to play higher level.

Those guys are miserable under NG and tried to broker their own deal w Rebels until it fell thru w the inclusion of slim shady

As far as I can tell Aldous shouldn’t be getting any “power” unless Heth and Sami suddenly retire.

I can’t say I know who slim shady is

People don't get removed from Director positions at Clubs with boards just because it was something fun for the board to do.

So the reformed guy is running around stealing teams from his old club, got it, makes perfect sense.
