Can someone break down for me the difference between Pre-NPL and Pre-ECNL/ECRL?

Sort of - I was talking about NPL leagues generically, rather than just the SoCal implementation specifically. You're right, it's limited in SoCal with just a single bracket, and not a large amount of teams involved. Does SoCal truly look at whether a team "qualifies" for NPL once once it ages into the right range, assuming the club already has NPL teams? How would that occur? There are so few teams in SoCal with that NPL label, that I'm having a hard time trying to track a team that has gone from Pre-NPL to NPL to try and understand the mechanism.
Up until recently there were links on SOCAL Leagues website detailing how teams in different age groups would be relegated and promoted between Flight 1 and NPL. That has been removed for some reason. In the previous few seasons, depending on the number of teams in the age brackets, the top three Flight 1 teams from League play would be promoted, and the bottom three from NPL would be relegated. Not sure it they are planning to change things up now that they are trying to integrate ECRL Southern California into the promotion and relegation of NPL teams. This is all the site has now.

Anyway here is a link to the SOCAL NPL site. https://www.socalsoccerleague.org/a...4 bridges the gap,is optional for these teams.

It's like I always say when this topic comes up about any of these "Pre" anything comes up.
Is there such a thing as "Pre-pregnant?" Either you are or you aren't.
Same with ECNL, NPL, Academy, etc etc The only thing you "might" be doing is paying more money.
