Best girls club longterm

I have a pretty competative daughter that plays soccer. We are new to the Phoenix area and wondering the best club at the GA/ECNL level for long term u12-u19. Practice travel time isn't an issue. I am looking for first hand information of parents that have already done this process, or who are currently in the process. Thank you

You don't have many options to sort through. The very few clubs that fit are near the top of this list.

I would stick with Phoenix Rising or RSL/Utah Royals only. YMMV depending on who answers this question. However, I would 100% steer clear of Arsenal & SC DelSol.

From my experience as a parent sitting on the other side as an opponent across both Leagues for the past few years, Phoenix Rising has tended to have the most consistent teams with what appeared to be the better coaching. Utah Royals (or whatever they're called now) would be second. My exposure is limited to two age groups so keep that in mind, but that's been my general observation. Someone from Arizona would obviously know the landscape better.

Are the Utah Royals AZ the same club as RSL Arizona? Or are they separate? The "Utah Royals AZ" club entity doesn't have enough teams to show up in the list of clubs, but they have the #1, #2, #4, #3, and #2 teams in the state for 08/07G, 2009G, 2010G, 2011G, and 2012G. If they had 1 more team, they would likely show up as the #2 ranked club.

Yes that would for sure put them up in a better ranking state and nationally. It looks like that u13 team that goes by rsl az royals is ranked 1st in the state. That would help with the ranking.

Do you have any first hand experience with Rising or Royals?

Utah Royals are RSL. They are only called Royals when the hit the age for ECNL.. All of the younger teams are RSL (North/South/Southern...).

Makes sense, thx. If the club ever wanted to show up higher in lists like this, they are always able to pull the teams into the same RSL AZ club entity, but then the team names would start with RSL AZ. But it's certainly not necessary. The environment is so relatively small there that everyone likely knows who the Royals are anyway.

The question you should ask is who is close. I would find out where the various teams practice and work out the logistics first. Royals practice all over as they have players from both east and north valley. Royals are the elite teams of RSL AZ all the ECNL, ECRL and I believe DPL. Rising, at least the elite teams practice in the North valley, SC Del Sol is central north and Arsenal is South East. A lot of this depends on where you live and how much you are willing to drive 4 to 5 days a week. Rising and Royals are far and away the top two. Arsenal basically gets their castoffs as players that want to stay in ECNL. SC Del Sol is unique. They are GA but are very good in their league and their recruitment is probably the most consistent of the top 4. Also look at where you will go to High School. High School varsity are mostly composed members of the top club in your area. Playing with teammates makes HS soccer much more fun.

Not sure where you are coming from but if you want top team be prepared to pay between 8 to 12k per year. Those bi monthly trips to SoCal and minimum two national events get expensive. Those would be for both ECNL and ECRL. Cost is virtually the same. Depending on your budget you may choose to not play for the highest level teams until after freshman year of HS. Otherwise you literally pay the same amount you would for in state ASU or UofA every year for club soccer.

Depending on the age of your daughter I would check out Next Level soccer. They are great for U13 and under for skills and soccer IQ. That will prepare them for the jump into high level teams.
