Baseball..

Felt badly for that pitcher. He had time to go to first and just locked up. Tough way to end the season. He'd better get on a different flight home because those fans are savage.

I don't even remember the play you're referring to but that generation of Phillies teams was loaded.
I was watching on TV with my Dad and it was even raining. I recall them having a consult with what I recall was the NL president or maybe even the Commissioner on if the game should continue in the rain. They did, Maddox dropped the ball then Russell singled in the winning run.

I absolutely hated Bill Russell. Maybe even more than I hated Strawberry or Machado wearing the uniform.

Probably at Target, as we speak, looking for a Cubbies hat.
Brewers hat, and I rarely shop at Target anymore after they "lost" my credit card. The CVS pharmacy inside the nearest Target store sometimes gives me a $2 Target coupon, which I usually use to buy an Amy's Chile Relleno Bowl.

Keep trying...
That was my default answer to the Padres pre-game scoreboard fan quiz in the '70s, when they would play some music, ask for the performer's name, the year, and then a baseball trivia question. When the music started, I said "Buddy Holly, 1957, Tony Conigliaro" even before the trivia question came up. The question was "The youngest American League player to hit 100 home runs". Conigliaro was the correct answer in 1973; I don't know if it still is.
