If you put a spill on words, they and them will make sure you spell it the way they want it. If you spell it wrong, you're raciest. These people are stupid, crazy and nuts!!! This child got their transitioning gift when they/them turned 12. Sometimes gifts like this are shoved down your immature brain by foolish adults to little 12-year old children that are still trying to figure out why they got what they got, and others got other gifts from life. Some people just don't like what they got, and some will even try to hide their junk under the tuck. When the kid turns 20, they don't like their gift anymore and would like to take the gift back or at least exchange for a different gift. Trump signed an executive order banning biological males from womenâs sports. If you are wondering, the action will have implications for the interpretation of federal law, like title ix. Second, the federal government is going to try to impose the policy on schools. This raises two complications. 1) if he disbands the dept of education it leaves it a ? Over who will enforce the policy and 2) this brings it directly in conflict with states like ca and ma which have outlined a state law or constitutional right. Third, heâs picked a fight with international organizations who refuse to follow the policy for bringing people into the United States. That sets up a fight with the Olympics and World Cup which may result in those bodies having to move events out of the United States even if they donât have athletes participating who are on grounds that the us cannot dictate to them their policy. It would not have any impact on club sports as far as I can tell since those operate largely under state law. It might impact professional sports however to the extent they use federal airways or are engaged in interstate commerce. We live in interesting times.
You are right that there are going to be a lot of complications going forward. I hope he is able to keep biological males out of women's sports, but there are other threats to women's sports and title ix imo. What does dissolving the department of educaton do to the upholiding of title ix and is there enough money to fund title ix at colleges after paint the male athletes the money they are getting for football, basketball, etc. I know it's mainly fundraising and alumni pool money, but budgets could be getting tight. This could be a short lived win for biological females and their safety in sports especially if scholarships decrease along with roster sizes and even male and female sports?
Not sure I see the big issue with âsets up a conflict with certain statesâ. The states disagree with each other. Any federal policy on Title IX and transgender athletes will be in conflict with several states. The only change is which states you disagree with.
As for IOC, we already are in conflict with them over a much bigger issue. Why worry about a few trans athletes when weâve essentially called their whole anti-doping scheme corrupt?
Legal conflict. The issue to be litigated is whether federal law can trump (small pun) state constitutions on the issue. It would be the job of the department of education to oversee such litigation but rumor has it that department is going away (itself a questionable eo). Theres an entire sub field of con law (by far the longest and most tedious subsection in the law school class) on federal supremacy, mostly related to the interstate commerce clause. Given even the chief in the Obamacare case took pains to limit the scope of federal power, it might wind up boomeranging on title ix with a result folks concerned with womenâs sports donât like.
