The only problem— All three fires were not caused by climate change.
• Paradise (Camp Fire, 2018): Human-caused by a “failed PG&E transmission-line” that sparked the fire; destroyed most of Paradise and killed 85.
•Greenville (Dixie Fire, 2021): Human-caused by a “tree falling onto PG&E power lines”; largely destroyed Greenville and burned nearly 1 million acres.
• Grizzly Flats (Caldor Fire, 2021): Human-caused by a “bullet spark”; destroyed about two-thirds of Grizzly Flats and burned over 220,000 acres.
Again… not climate change. Coordinated “accidental” mass arson.

Yup. The “middle tier” they want to eliminate exists entirely because of college admissions. The proof is the same dynamics exist now in other sports, but Europes p2p system is tiny. And what are they going to do with the p2p mlsn teams which are just as much a part of this “middle tier”?….they say the secondary orgs like upl and leagues will do sponsorships but I don’t see Ventura fusion pulling out check books esp for ea level teams….and let’s not forget the women don’t have academies right now so they don’t have an upper tier but it seems like the one proposal which will take place is nwsl affiliated teams will be incoming (but they’ll have the same cannon fodder problem mlsn has given the geographical distances). But until you change college admissions nothings going to happen with p2p.
Interestingly Latino league has affiliated rec teams with Mexican academies, like atlas or chivas. The academies actually do scout the rec teams. My son did an initial trial invite for one but did not pursue further when he found out the immigration and eligibility hurdles. BUT it’s not like this has been a miracle solution for Mexico either…lots of kids double Latino league and letter league and if they are good they are getting at least partial free rides and getting looked at by the mls academies.
