How’s the 2024-2025 season going?

any comments on the RL playoffs? Any surprises? Were most teams using NL players?
Seemed pretty straight forward on the RL side for the 10s. Slammers faces Stanislaus in Bracket A and in Bracket B we have Legends So Cal will play Ca Odyssey. Most teams used NL players (some were 2011s who couldn’t match up to the 10s). I don’t think any of them really affected the outcomes in the end.

yeah I think its just accepted now as NL players are going to be used so you either adapt and do it or you don't. Much different than when the 10's started in playoffs though 2 years ago and lots of people were on here freaking out about seeing NL players!! Sucks we can only get 2 teams out of the southwest to Virginia. Wonder if they will change the RL playoffs structure again anytime soon.

Looks pretty evenly matched for the finals.

Slammers won in PKs over Stanislaus 4-1 after the game ended 0-0. Slammers keeper and former Slammers NL keeper x 2 years who decided to moved down to RL staying firm on not splitting time blocked 3 shots to punch their ticket to Virginia.

Legends RL S Cal took Odyssey to PKs but ultimate came up short 3-4.

It could have almost been a Legends final in bracket B. Ref wasn’t in position to make a call on a no goal posted on social media which would have changed the outcome of the weekend for them. Score for that game would have ended 2-2 but instead score was 1-2 when legends goalie went high to support when odyssey recovered and launched a kick from midfield on an empty net to end the game 3-1 in the final minute,

Same with Blues, they almost got slammers in their game. Blues went up 2-1 but slammers battled back to win it 3-2 securing their Tuesday match.

Slammers RL should win it all. They were the strongest team during the season and deservedly so (similar to Beach RL last year).

The 4-1 PKs score is shown on the ECNL Regional League playoff site. I can only fashion one scenario in which the score ends 4-1 but that only allows a maximum of two saves by the winning keeper. Did the referee crew make a mistake in the fourth round of kicks by having the losing team take a meaningless kick?

We saw the PKs. Slammers only took 4 kicks and made them all. Stanislaus only took 3 kicks. Slammers keeper did in fact save 2 out of the 3 (super impressive).

Southwest shows strength in ECNL Nationals, much like ACC powerhouses (UNC, Florida State, Stanford, Duke) in NCAA Championships. Other regions chasing a title must come with elite talent, deep roster, and almost zero slack to win it all.

Already predicting Finals...

U13 HB Koge 1-0 win over San Diego Surf
U14 So Cal Blues 2-1 win over HB Koge
U15 San Diego Surf 1-0 win over MVLA
U16 Solar SC 2-1 win over San Diego Surf
U17 HB Koge 3-2 win over Sting Black
All possible, although I wouldn’t rule out SD Surf (last years champs) being in the U14 mix. A lot has to do with the matchups in the round of 16.

Koge to beat Surf in the final is my 2010 prediction.

MVLA got away with one against Breakers yesterday, losing 0-1 with 10 minutes remaining but took the 2-1 win with the last kick of the game on an Olympico.

Bay Area Surf look surprisingly good… they only beat Beach 1-0 but they totally dominated.

Koge and SD Surf are just cruising along, Legends quietly in the mix too….Solar only out of state team who I think can challenge but I might be wrong

In recent years, Bay Area Surf has prioritized roster strength over legacy/coach ties, particularly in younger teams as they build. On the other hand, MVLA fields a strong XI but retains legacy players on the bench. This is sufficient for NorCal league during season but not competitive at ECNL Nationals.

Meh. Koge is not a “futbol” team, but plays the game athletically well. At this level, you need luck. Can luck love them 3 times in a row? What does Vegas say?

Sd surf is the quality team. But has fallen short the last two years. Solar should never be counted out due to their quality and free spirited persona. Bay Surf is a real possibility. Quality, skilled and motivated. Legends outcome is dependent on the performance of 3 players, if these are hot - they go. If these are blunted, then no

I heard Legends sustained multiple red cards, is that true? Was there a fight?
