It's amazing how much you don't know. In fact, the ONLY thing you really know, is that you really don't know anything.A self-inflicted Covid like financial hit.

If the premise is to move manufacturing back, then no. Alternatively, I guess you are saying that Trump is lying to his supporters and everyone else when he says its to move manufacturing back, which obviously, given his record, makes a lot of sense.Isn't that the entire idea of the tariffs to begin with? To generate dialogue and show you're interested in a deal more than anything?
Like when libtards were shitting their pants over Trump not calling Rocket Man and Putin "assholes"? Kinda tough to negotiate and make deals doing that. It's almost like not getting astronauts home for 7 months when Elon can do it in 7 days.
The only way “manufacturing” returns to the USA is if people are willing to work for federal minimum wage and pay $300 for a pair of average sneakers. AI and robotics are already taking humans jobs in China, Vietnam, India and elsewhere cheap labor was the norm. We need far smarter leadership than we have now to compete or even stay in the game.If the premise is to move manufacturing back, then no. Apparently, you didn't know that the ship that took the astronauts back has been docked to the ISS since September, when their new return trip was scheduled for Feb/Mar 25. Its been common knowledge since then for anyone who cared to do a smidgen of research.
For sure, any factories being built or repurposed will lean heavily on robotics and automation. They will also be in places with the least restrictive labor laws. The only way “manufacturing” returns to the USA is if people are willing to work for federal minimum wage and pay $300 for a pair of average sneakers. The majority of companies in the USA aren’t large enough to absorb these hits and don’t have the resources to expand. This is a strip mining of American resources. As if a private equity bought the country and is now parting it out.For sure, any factories being built or repurposed will lean heavily on robotics and automation. We import 97% of the clothing purchased in the US. There is zero chance we are bringing that back. Its like tariffs on Indonesia because of their coffee exports to the US ... are we growing coffee in the US now or ever?
I'm with Rand Paul,, this is straight up a tax on Americans, with a baseline of 10% and going up from there.
