Which clubs close to Lake Forest or Mission Viejo?

Currently live in Irvine and my son plays for SoCal Reds but we are moving out to either RSM, Lake Forest, or MV and I’m curious if there are some clubs that practice closer. Not keen on a 20-25 minute drive to/from practice 3x a week…are there good competitive level (EA/EA2/MLS Next) teams that practice a bit further south? Or do yall just drive a lot?

What age Group and whats his curent flight?

I'm a big fan of Laguna United. EA is the top level at that club. Coach Sam and Marcello are great guys.

Truth be told, however? Everything in SoCal is a 30 minute drive. So if your boy is happy at Reds, I'm guessing your commute won't change much.

As far as clubs - Pateadores, West Coast, Laguna United, CFA, San Clemente Surf, Slammers. You pick.
Driving anywhere will take more than 20-30 min. The higher the level - the longer the drive.

So you want your kid on a high-level team but don't want to sacrifice a bit with a drive if everything fits right? The commute is the most important thing?

Might as well stick with your local AYSO so if the season doesn't go as planned there's always a new team next year.

I've yet to figureout where Slammers' top teams (ECNL/ECRL) train. Someone please enlighten me.

Go to ECNL website and find the game schedule. Find a Slammer home game and see where the home field is. The practice is likely not far from the home field.

You can use this method to determine where all the teams are located.

It’s not about sacrificing a bit, it’s about literally not being able to get him to weekday practices on time due to work… not sure why you’re so hostile in your response. Right now we have a 7 min drive to his practices 3x a week, so if we move out further I was just curious if there’s a club that practices more south is all…

Nothing hostile in what I said. I'm just not sugar-coating it. Been doing this a long time and I hear it all the time. People in the same boat. Complaining about the commute to training or how far away some of our games are. They had to know that when they committed to the team. Maybe you'll find a team that trains at a later time. (Look at what @Eagle33 said above.) Find something closer to home if it's easier for you. Don't complain if the training is mediocre, the team doesn't do well, etc. Or stick to AYSO. There's nothing wrong with AYSO if that's what works out for you. There are higher level AYSO teams out there. We played one such team today. We are playing F1. We beat them 4-0 and we missed a few shots on goal but they hardly were a crappy team. They moved the ball well. You might find one near you. You get out what you put into it. Same goes for your kid. Worry less about the jersey your kid is wearing vs everything else. The team environment. The training/coach. The players. The parents.
Our commute to train is usually 20-25mins each way. Friday night it took my wife almost an hour to get home because there was so much traffic. It is what it is.
