I thought the exactly same thing. The minute she started playing, she showed like she belonged 100% , like she'd been there for 2-3 years already. Every time she touched a ball, I felt comfortable that she'd do the right thing. Very promising!

No Alex. Interesting decision. Crystal Dunn gives you a tough, 2 way player who makes things happen on the wing but I guess coach feels they're strong enough on the inside. Also surprised Macario is going. I haven't seen her look anywhere near her old self yet and heard she wasn't going.

Yeah, it's bad, 1-0 win over mexico followed by a draw vs costa Rica. USSF getting soccer coaching hires wrong right now. Compare Marsch and Canada vs Uruguay with US vs Uruguay. USSF passes on Marsch. Somebody looking at the wrong map
It was 100 degrees and humid. Tough to evaluate performance when they're playing in those type of conditions.
I think they moved the ball extremely well last night. Much better than they've looked in the past. Just couldn't find the back of the net. 26 shots, 12 on frame. I dont think CR had one shot on goal.. could easily have been 5-0
I didn't see it but watched last weekend. I think once Smith and Swanson get some time together, if that's how they're used, it'll be lethal. To me, Rodman hasn't shown the consistency yet. And I think Lavelle has to be dealing for them. Horan, to me, is more of a 6 or 8. I think putting her at the 10 is a mistake and hope that's not the long term plan.
I definitely agree about Rodman and Horan for sure.
Albert’s place on the roster confuses me. No idea why she is there.
Rodman is one dimensional. Runs in straight lines, touch is still poor despite playing at this level and lacks creativity. I think Horan would make a good 6. In fact, I think if Macario was healthy she would as well for different reasons.
Early on I really bought into the "she's not here because she's Dennis' really athletic kid" and rooted for her because you know he wasn't any kind of a father. But you described what I've seen the last couple of matches.
Would you put Macario in the 6 or further up the field? I'd be curious to see what she does there but that kid is a shooter.
Macario was played as an attacking at Surf and Stanford. And has been employed on the USWNT there too. But, I see something in her ability to cover the field like most can’t. And then you consider her attacking ability from a 6. Oooo!
Yeah... I just worry about the wear and tear on that ACL if she's getting more involved in tackles. That's why I like Horan in that spot. Plus, I don't think Horan has what it takes to be a great distributor... but that's me.
it is easy to forget that Rodman is still only 22. She has as high of a ceiling as anyone. Rodman had a player of the match performance against Germany. With Lavelle and Swanson providing creativity, the front line looked very balanced. Horan had a few bad give aways today but overall this was one of the USWNT's best performances in a long time.
I’m in NY watched the game with my DD before she reports to camp. We watched the game together. I turned to her at half-time and said EH has already had an impact on TR and/or quite possibly given her specific directions. She did two things she usually does not do ( which I have only seen in this game). She did not shoot but once (I think) and dribble at goal to try and score. She is far from what most think she is, but if she continues to learn from EH it will impact her trajectory. Her NWSL team will not do this and this was but one game. She needs dozens more before she’s there.
Side note: My only issue with EH is that she supports Spurs.
