Games of the week....

I know it's tough going down a man with 2/3 left in the game. But if two teams are relatively evenly matched, then being down 1 man isn't going to necessarily result in a blowout if the right adjustments are made. For starters, if you go down a man early then you take away an attacking player, so you can maintain your defensive shape and the ability to hold possession in the middle third. If the game is still within reach with under 10-15 minutes remaining, then you can choose to gamble by shifting the formation to add an attacker and removing a defender. Going down a man early does make it very difficult to score. But a team shouldn't be getting blown out unless there was already a mismatch to begin with.

This is not a dig on GSA. I'm just disputing the repercussions of going down a man.
 
Has Galaxy really changed this much since we played them at Man City Cup? I know they picked up VC and MC but really?! I guess I will find out in 2 weeks.

Yes and those two & whole team are playing at a pace & level that's hard to match in this AG.

Don't let the 6-0 score fool you GSA played against 12 THERE WERE several calls that did not go GSA way. They should of taken advantage of the missed opportunities before they had their player sent off but even with 10 they were creating. It is what it is everyone that was there knows the reality of what took place and a true soccer fan would of seen a different 6-0 game.
It Mexico can lose 0-7 to Chile and
Real Madrid 0-5 to Barca why can't GSA take a 6-0 loss and regroup this is only the 5th game of the season nothing to panic about.

Even with 11 players gsa would of lost 6-0 accept the fact that the Galaxy team is on a whole other level Galaxy is the dominant one this year period.
 
BK studies the teams he plays. Knows the weak players and hot headed players. First of attack is that. Any coach should do the same and study your opponent.

Let me break down the tactical mistakes that GSA made on the second half:

1. GSA mistake: At the start of the second half GSA removed their only healthy defensive midfielder and replaced with an attacking midfielder.
LAG: Moved RM from right back to his natural #10 position. GSA had no def mid and that gave the back line a new puzzle to solve. Thus the 3rd goal on 65th minute.

2. Immediately after the 3-0,desperate for a goal, GSA removed a center back for a forward. You CANNOT stop VC, MC, RM, DM and MI with a 3 line defense! You would need an Atletico Madrid block of defenders and 5 mids to contain them. That's how good these dudes are. LAG scored another 3 goals from the 69th minute to the 72nd.

Being down 2 goals in the first 2 minutes of the game set the tempo, but it could have been contained even with a player down with the right tactical changes as Eusebio mentioned.
 
2 forwards great. But your good coach you can see they're one sided players. Not once the go thru ball was stopped. It's not the boys at GSA at a fault. The coach in all honesty got out coached. The next time around I hope it will be different story. Like I said BK does his homework and kills you in your weak spots. I'm a fan of both the kids at GSA and BK. You have to do your homework if your going to battle with BK.

5 games into the season doesn't define a team lets, too soon to call a dominant year let's see how the rest of the year unfolds and hopefully both sides are healthy in December when they play again see you then!!
 
WC plays Temecula on friday at 7:00 in Temecula. Who schedules a game on a Friday night at that time on that day. What a nightmare to be on the 91 to the 15 freeway to get there.
 
WC vs Temecula Hawks are on stand by because of clowns. Sorry but what the he'll goes on in Temecula. Wine , casino's and breaking bad meth lab mobile homes. The other half is own by the tribes. We have to wait until 3pm to wait for to hear yes we can play. Do you know how bad the traffic is at that time. WC is the home team make sense?

Take Otega Hwy. Use Waze app before you leave but that's my normal route.
 
I've mentioned before about the huge drop off with the "B" teams at the DA clubs ever since the birth year change/DA expansion. If you look at the 02/03 age groups in SCDSL & CSL, the non-DA teams for Surf, Albion, Pats, Strikers, Golden State, Aresenal, LAUFA, and etc have all been performing mediocre to very poor.

But looking at the standings, the '02 Albion Garton might end up being the one exception. Over the summer they looked just like all the other under-performing DA club "B" teams. But during the CSL season, they're now in the top half of the standings. What stuck out to me was they're tied for least goals allowed, so they seem to have a strong defense. But conversely, they're also tied for the worst goals scored. Which makes sense, at this age any forward worth their salt would have been picked up by the DA team.

Boca Juniors is clearly the class of this age group. I'm curious this weekend whether Albion Garton will be the first DA club "B" team to actually perform well or will Boca put them back to mediocrity. Someone mentioned in the '03 thread that Garton teams are known for good defense, but I think the lack of goal-scoring is going to be an issue when facing Boca. That said, October/November is when you start to see the coaches who actually developed their team. Teams that start to peak in the back half of the season are usually ones who had better development (assuming other things are relatively equal).
