Academy season

Good game between GSA and Strikers.
Today it wasn't about who's better. It's about what each team needs to do to develop properly. The Strikers played better than GSA with 10 players in the last 10 minutes. They almost scored.

The Strikers have a lot of heart. Props to the whole team and the new Coach who just started with those boys. It was the second game of the season. True Development starts in a few weeks once everyone has settled in. Winning doesn't matter unless you're on this forum of course.

GSA has a great style of play where everything starts from the back. Strikers play the opposite style. They Start from the top and put a lot of pressure with their speed on top. Both styles are different but efficient.

I feel bad for the kid who got the red card. That was BS for sure. Poor kid was just trying to hold on to his shirt but the hair got in the way. Let the kids play!!

You sound so freakin' new at this I swear!

Hahahaha!

What kind of Intel are you trying to get. Galaxy worked on their shape and ball movement. The score line might indicate a close game. It was not but pats gave it a good effort. I'm looking forward to the game against strikers to see if they are going to play kick and run. I think they will be chasing the ball most of the time and get tired out. Word on he street is that they aren't as talented as most people think. They rely on their speed to get offense. Kind of one dimensional if the scouting report is true.

Jack Z Thanks for the heads up on Pats TV. After watching. Pat's goalie had rough first game, midfield really struggled to control ball and provided limited service to their forward. FCGS midfield is pretty strong and defensively they are organized..

Is it the same golie they had during the U13 season last year or the golie from VW tournament?

Not sure. He made kid mistakes. Got caught in no mans land twice, and didn't have time and space to react to shot. Hopefully he remains confident and he will learn from this game.

The Goalie was the old Rangers and ODP goalie. He's legit but just had a bad game vs GSA.

The Strikers are really good and I'm confused of why people bash on the Strikers.

I think we have a misunderstanding of what development means.

Learning to win is developing
Learning how to play out the back is developing
Learning how to adjust when being dominated is Developing
Learning why you lost is developing

Receiving longballs is developing
Learning a new system is developing
Watching good soccer on TV is developing
Playing Fifa 2016 is Developing
Learning the history of soccer is developing.

New $300 Cleats not Developing
Driving 2 hours away not Developing
Playing 5 games over a weekend horrible for development and great for injuries and stunt growth.

This is a world sport it's not just played in Barcelona. In the last 10 years name the last Super Star player that Barcelona has produced with this real development that everyone claims. Who Newmar? Suarez? I'm waiting. In the last 10 years who?

When all of these kids become men the pro teams only care about 2 things.

Can we score? Can we defend?
Ok 3 things can we sell tickets?

Woods played with the Strikers and he received long balls the whole time.
Last Sunday he scored on a long ball in the Bundesliga. I can't wait to see a developed Galaxy player play in Europe! I'll be here waiting while the GSA, Strikers and Pats players continue to get noticed by Real European clubs.

GSA player signed England
Pats player signed Italy
Strikers player signed Germany

Galaxy???
Galaxy 2 maybe?

What is the future for the Galaxy Academy players? College Scholarships?
Professional Contracts with Galaxy 2 making 30k a year?

Why would you get locked up in that System? They don't want their kids to leave them or to leave the country. That's the biggest difference between Galaxy and the rest of the development academies

Strikers want their kids to be able to play anywhere in the World and they open the doors for all their players.

At this age it's not about just winning. It's about learning how you win and why you lose. Both lessons can be valuable. The problem is that teams don't teach players why they won or why they lost. That takes at least 1 hour after the game is over to explain. I only know of 2 coaches in the United States that does this.
Why did you win? Why did you lose?
Both are great questions for development. These kids need to learn why things happen.

No need to post youth Videos to make a statement. It means absolutely nothing.

How about you post club and academy Alumni? That's what really counts.

How many Strikers in the Last 10 years have received College Scholarships?

How about Galaxy?

No Comparison

Very good could you give names of the coaches?

Sergio Busquets

Exactly what?

If you could only name 1 player that only Barcelona and Spain fans know then I made my point.

I'm talking the best players in the world like Xavi Iniesta Messi Pique 10 years ago.

Either way I'm glad you answered the Barcelona question and completely ignored my Galaxy questions.

I love the Barcelona style for sure. Actually it's my favorite team to watch play. They dont have many star Academy Barcelona players beside Messi who was developed in Rosario by the way then he was helped in Barcelona.

Remember the Galaxy is not Barcelona.

Are you retarded or something, you asked if someone can name at least one Super Star La Masia has produced in the last 10 years? I named Sergio Busquets, but you continue rambling on as if you made a point.

Here's another one, Jordi Alba worth 35,00 Mill. €.

I'm not trying to make this about Barcelona. You win on that one. Alba is a Super Star! Let's go back to the Strikers and Galaxy and developing.

These are the most important questions that needs to be answered.

How many players from the Galaxy 2003s come developed from the Galaxy youth system? Besides the 2 original 2003s that also developed on Cosmos and at the ghetto indoor arena in Los Angeles, who else? Most of the best players on the Galaxy developed on other teams. The holding mid on Galaxy was developed by GSA 100% . He was a striker and his Ex Coach/Developer turned him into an amazing holding mid. I don't understand why he left when the Coach and club invested a lot of time with him.

How many players on the Strikers 2003s come developed from the Strikers youth system? I actually don't know the answer but I'm guessing a lot of them just from watching them years ago. They started from the bottom! A team thats been together for years and has progressed year after year to become one of the best teams in the Nation I would think those kids are developing. I might be a little buzzed off of 2 Micheladas(alcapulcos) but come on.
Give the Strikers some Respect those boys are amazing.

Picking the best players from last year to win this year! That's not developing?

Everyone has the right to stupid opinions especially myself. The Strikers are getting Bullied on here because they don't play like GSA or Galaxy but yet they can beat GSA on any given Sunday and vice versa. Dont say by the long ball. The last 10 minutes of their last game the strikers with 10 players out played GSA with touch and with hustle. The Strikers are Legit are you kidding me? Vs GSA yes they will play Long Ball most of the time because you almost have no choice.

Good Night
I understand what you are saying, but I can count at least 5 players that played for South Bay plus the 2 03's that are playing with the 02's, wouldn't that count as part of the Galaxy organization?

There are a bunch of players and teams in this league that do things the right way, there is no need to brag or boost about the "star," stud, "tall Ethic Player", speed, or any of the other non-sense

You Strikers homers like to come her and do this we're special bit, have all the speed, the standard, claim a bunch of stuff & as soon as somebody calls your on it or ask for some proof besides your saltest rant you end up back tacking, living in your own heads or something along those lines.

Galaxy doesn't have any teams before U12 so they all come for somewhere, just like the club players that start at age X that played somewhere before that.

If you want to look at how many of there players came for there affiliated club that number is about half the current team roster,

Bobby Wood is a fantastic player just like Gyasi Zardes or the other (4) homegrown players on pro contracts for the 1st team.

Bobby was with the Strikers for what one whole season before moving on the Munich, Gyasi has been with the Galaxy a lot longer but as a youth he passed through several clubs like most players.
http://pressbox.mlssoccer.com/http://pressbox.mlssoccer.com/homegrownplayers

Funny thins is I don't see a single Strikers players on that active list, maybe you can point one out? Galaxy also has other homegrown players overseas in Eupore on loan or on normal rosters.

Every single one of the U17/18 Galaxy Players had college or pro options/offers at the end of the season.

Stop the BS or back up the claims, videos have been posted and we've seen nothing in return.

All the kids this age are nothing but students of the game, long way to go. 99.9% of these players won't turn pro and college will be there last go at playing.

Strikers doesn't have a strong rep in the DA league, there U15/16 & U17/18 teams will be fortunate to grab a point this weekend as they try to climb out of last place. Stinkers is one of the original members of the DA league, but even after all those years they still struggle. If the DA market was open competition they would have pushed out by now

There are newer upcoming clubs coming on strong along with LAFC posed to be big player in the years to come. Will the Strikers survive this or will they remain a footnote in the DA league?

I don't want to bash on the Galaxy because they do have great talent. I just want people to stop bashing the strikers about development.

I don't much about the 2002s. I'm sure if these 2003s stay together for a long time then they will develop even more for sure. They run a beautiful system between the youth but that's all it is. Sometimes ugly soccer is way more effective even at the pro level. Ugly works and ugly should be taught and played against.

If you really want to develop players this is what I would do.

I would obligate every DA team to change their formation every other week.
If the DA wants them to run a 433 then every other week each team should play a different formation..

Strikers vs LAG
433 vs 442
Strikers vs Pats
532 vs 433
Surf vs Strikers
343 vs 433
Real SoCal. Vs Strikers
433 Vs 541

This keeps the kids knowledgeable about playing and covering different formations. What do you guys think don't bash me please?
