Bracket D has two flight 2 teams
Brackets B, C, E & F have major questions about who will be the 2nd team to come out of the group
Surf struggled at Surf Cup in a group they should have won with ease but picked it up in the final...what team will show up?
Will Rebels Slammers or Beach take the leap as one of the Elite teams?

The format is different than last year's SoCal State Cup and more in line with the way that Cal South has done State Cup in the past. I'm assuming that 16 teams will make it out of the groups which means Top 2 teams in each group and 4 wild cards. I'm curious to see how SoCal is going to decide the wild cards. It's looking like there will be some competitive groups. Don't sleep on some of these teams, the majority are battle tested now and there are always going to be surprises at State Cup.

my guess it will follow TBs in group

1. head to head
2 . GD
3. GF
4. GA

Did State Cup force these F2 teams to play in the Super Cup, or was it the club request ?

Im leaning towards club request , because there is one F2 here that didn’t win their league division ( and the division winner is playing in F2 )

Some of the bracketing changed. Bracket D moved Legends SGV who was one of the flight 2 teams to Bracket F. Good for SOCAL to show they're at least paying attention to bracketing.

Mate I dont see Rangers listed

Seriously bro???? You want to be a condescending prick because I named a team that you don't agree with in the up and coming teams, not even in the top 10...your feelings hurt because I didn't list your daughters team??
Whoa, settle down My kids team is playing at State Cup but based off of how pissy you've got I think we all know what team yours won't be. I did not mean for a personal attack pal just relax.

It will be interesting to see how close the predictions are, even though a lot will change between now and State Cup with many teams. Please do a side by side of the actual results and these predictions once State Cup is over.

That was always the intention. I'm a big fan of the YSR technology but I do question how accurate it is. I did a side by side for Surf College Cup a few weeks back. This is obviously with a smaller sample size (only 13 games). Will be interesting to see how accurate it will be with State Cup and the 36 games group stage.

Me and a couple other parents went to work in the G07 group in the YSR app. and made it as accurate as possible for the teams we know over the summer. We continued to clean it up and assign the correct data to the correct teams throughout the fall. It's predictions have been within 1 GD for that age group for almost every game prediction during the fall. I don't know how Surf Cup determined the G07 brackets last month, but it was a predictably unbalanced shit show. When the brackets came out, a few of us had some WTF discussions about how the Surf Cup brackets could be so far off, from the ranking app.. Then the game results confirmed the ignorance. There were 4-0, 5-0, and even 0-7 predictions in the top bracket that came into reality. It is clear, they don't use data to bracket teams, they stack the deck to make their teams look good. And put teams that threaten the status quo into low brackets. Our clubs top team pulled out because Surf Cup wanted to charge an additional fee to our club for them to be in one of the top brackets. They went to an ECNL Event elsewhere instead. Then our ECRL team got moved down in the brackets, below teams we've dominated in the fall. It made winning the bracket a hollow victory, wasn't even much of a celebration afterward. The whole event seemed staged. I don't know if it was, or if it just seemed that way because the predictions where accurate. Bracket seeding in tournaments should be transparent, or at least indicate how they were decided.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect that YSR is within 1 GD the majority of the time. This age group is at the age now where a lot of the teams are starting to see development and closing the gap talent wise. Should be interesting to see how the rankings change over time.

I only did a top bracket Surf predictor but I think I’m going to run a lil something for State Cup to see how accurate things are for 2nd flight and how their bracketing process is done also.

Also did B09 for top flight for State Cup. They definitely don’t use the rankings for even bracketing purposes. There are teams that are projected to finish 4th in their bracket that would win be projected to win several other brackets. They really should be using the technology to try to make the most even bracketing possible.

You're just noticing this now? Surf Cup events generally advantage their teams in the brackets. It's always been this way.

Paying extra to play in a higher level is something I haven't heard of before.

Since we're talking about bending the rules I've seen futsal leagues that literally gave certain teams (that were/are Surf related) extra games just so they would win the league on points.

I find it interesting that Surf + Surf related entities do this. Their players, tactics, and coaches are all very good. Going out of your way to bend the rules in every way possible when you dont need to is odd.

It's always been suspected. This year was just blatant and over the top.
