Bottom 3 need to be relegated.
I find this comment very intreging. If the girls DA is going to be run like the boys program then they should relegate the weaker teams. However, if this is truly about development, some subjective parameters need to be put in place. Yes unfortunately it is always going to be subjective, but US Soccer must somehow measure the development each club is achieving other than just pooching players.Bottom 3 need to be relegated.

So far all I have seen DA do is weaken leagues and cause high level players to quit soccer entirely; the conflict between the ego of wanting to be recognized as a top player and thus play on a DA team vs the reality that teenage girls want some free time to be a kid and also study has been too much for some players.
I have also heard rumors that a big shake up is coming already in this first season. Speaking with an out of state parent of a high level ECNL player, his comment was that only in SoCal are parents obsessed with DA. They would rather have the flexibility to spend off days with privates focusing on individual needs.
In NorCal, things are not going well for the DA. Looks like many DA parents are already talking about having their kids jump ship next year. See the thread below.I find this comment very intreging. I guess you must know all the kids around the US and their situations. You must be busyLet's not exaggerate. GDA has existed for only a few months. If a kid quit already, that had nothing to do with DA. And yes, GDA did weaken other leagues - no shocker there.
No more or less of a generalization than your statement.I guess you must know all the kids around the US and their situations. You must be busy

First off one of the things I believe in most on this form is not naming a minor DD, their family, a team or even a coach, specifically. You should know that. But clearly you don’t know jack s... my friend. When someone uses the term “high level” and their serious about it, that tells me all I need to know. No, I just know all the "high level" players. They haven't quit because of GDA. Go ahead and prove me wrong. Name one.
High level player to me is defined as most girls on the top 3/4 of DA teams in SoCal that get significant playing time. And yes girls have already quit. Some probably largely due to parental expectations that they needed to play DA when their dd was not cut out for DA due to social life or school commitments. This is above the normal attrition you see at the start of high school. No, I just know all the "high level" players. They haven't quit because of GDA. Go ahead and prove me wrong. Name one.
The comments made on the NorCal forum are on point. Especially about DA requiring California teams go to Florida right before/during finals whereas the boys played during Thanksgiving break. In NorCal, things are not going well for the DA. Looks like many DA parents are already talking about having their kids jump ship next year. See the thread below.
