CalSouth National Cup Question (use of ECNL players)

Okay, so by your logic you have no issues with teams playing down to secure the trophy. So next year, the Arsenal ECNL girls can look forward to Governor's Cup?

Here's the difference.......your HC (RB) and it appears many of the parents of this team are 100% okay with playing down and winning a trophy your team is overqualified for. This tactic proves to me that RB is more interested in winning a trophy than developing his players. What flavor kool-aid does he serve at practice?

The HC's that have integrity will not allow their teams to play down and beat up on teams that they already know they are better than.

Enjoy your trophy and pictures. In a couple of years that may be all of the glory you and your dd will ever experience.

Well we know RB has no shame but really Cal South highlighting them with a video and of course an interview of RB himself.
For the record there were more than 7 ECNL girls. Roster, pictures, video what additional evidence do you need?
Go Arsenal ECNL I am sure this is preparing the girls for the remainder of the ECNL season. Good confidence builder for them. lol

Look ... You can get mad, you can make snide comments and remarks but please know I come from the Old School perspective where raising your hand and saying "It's not fair" is just not how you play or approach competitive sport . . . When you lose, you go back, grind harder and get better...thats it... no complaining, no crying, just go to work and come back better next year. As long as no rules were broken or Until Cal South puts in more regulations to control these types behaviors . . .to me its all fair in love & War. . . Don't get mad at the player, Get mad at the game!

You should have made that speech to the coach. Play the hand your dealt. Egsl players in President cup. Take you lumps and come back stronger.etc.
No horse in this race. Just an opinion. Also you are correct about all those other teams using ecnl players at President division. Same shame should be pointed at them as well. From the looks of it a lot of teams tried the same tactic, but only one was successful. Practice makes perfect.

Not mad, don't care, but defy anyone to tell me that RB is a good coach? So if you're not there for the education you're there for the "W" so what does that say about YOU?

My 02g EGSL daughter's team (won't name club) did the same thing with bringing up 3 02g ECNL players to play in our SCDSL championship game. We only won the game because of them and I found it completely unfair that my daughter, one of the better players on the team, was subbed out while the ECNL players played the entire game. The coach (CG) wanted to win at all costs and we did. I never shook the coaches hand after that game and left very upset along with the other team, never to see that coach again. We left the team shortly after since I wanted NO part of that type of team or sportsmanship. I hold coaches to the highest sportsmanship level and want my daughter to learn that you win by not cheating (or bending the rules as Kongzilla so eloquently states). There's a time and a place to bring ECNL players on and that is ONLY if you are down players and need subs. I say if you have 14 players, you do not need any help. In my case, 3 ECNL players changed the outcome of the game dramatically.

RE: RB as a Good Coach or not ... As far as a trainer he is pretty good coach/ trainer - that guy consistently puts out competitive teams and really good players year in year out ... if he didn't we all would not be talking about RB and his Arsenal teams ... they are very competitive and hard to beat... I'm not saying they are the best team ... but they are good at all levels (02's, O3's, 04's) SCSDL /CRL / ECNL ...EGSL is debatable for sure ... but there is a reason why all the major clubs scout and recruit RB's players ... because he builds really good players. RB might not be the best coach in So Cal ... and he is not for everyone thats for sure, but his players and teams are skilled, fast and physical - whether anyone wants to admit it or not. . . I know its a hard pill to swallow, especially when teams consistently lose to RB's teams ... but facts are facts unless there Alt facts of course ... smile!

Please stop typing! You're sound like an idiot. The only way you're going to get someone to agree with you here, is to look at your spouse and tell them to become a "new member"

Dangggg Kiknit22... Someone has a different opinion, brings a different perspective and you call them names bring their spouse into it ... Wow you need to get a Grip Jabroni, its only Youth Soccer bro. . . breathe Jabroni, Breathe! I'm not trying to get people to agree with me here, I'm just calling it out like I see it ... I might be wrong Jabroni, but The last I heard you don't own this space, or have a monopoly on Youth Soccer Opinions do you?... Again Don't get Mad at me, Get Mad at the facts Kiknit22 (aka Jabroni)!

OMG! Is this "The Rock" himself? Too funny!

Impressive Kiknit22 you know your wrestling! ... Glad you can still find humor in all of this ... your not that much of a Putz as I thought ... You just gained a couple of cool points here event though you called me an Idiot . . . stick and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me. . .smile

@Kicknit22 RB relevance will soon fade into obscurity as they don't have a DAand it's highly doubtful people will stay around esp at the 03 04 level.
The issue you should be worried about as with most soccer coaches is where will he skulk off to. Keep an eye on that

Well congrats with the medal and all the accolades. As we move on to next year, let's see who will stay with Arsenal and RB. I wonder how many of those 7,8,9,10 ECNL that played will stay.

Now off to National Cup.....

DA is definitely going to change the competitive landscape for sure ... but I don't think ECNL is just going to fade away, I think will be a viable, relevant league. Remember your only going to have 18 spots for the DA 1 program, if your kid does not make that team ... what's your next best alternative league DA 2? ... Also ECNL has built a solid college recruiting platform that many coaches are familiar with. If you read the D1 Coaches soccer blogs many of them are still in favor of ECNL and what offers from a college recruitment platform. In the Short term year 1 and 2 ECNL will have some relevance ... although long term ECNL would be under threat ... My 2 cents

Now there is a post I can agree with from you. Thank you.

Didn't your team collectively raise their hand and cry "it's not fair" that you have to play National Cup when you petitioned CalSouth to play DOWN in Presidents?

What happened to "grinding harder", "getting better" and coming back better?

Thats the problem with people that lack integrity, they always think their argument doesn't apply to them.....

Kicker Por Vida!. . .C'mon brother let it go ... To the best of my knowledge Arsenal did not petition we were thinking about petitioning but Cal South Let us in without doing so, maybe you know more than I do ... please educate me on that point.

Kicker Por Vida

RE: What happened to "grinding harder", "getting better" and coming back better?
Not sure how to answer this .... but the EGSL Players got to play at a high level, and ECNL Players got some additional touches and playtime working on various parts of their game

Kicker Por Vida -
I don't see your rational or point on attacking my integrity, you don't know me or my integrity, My DD just shows up, plays hard and balls!

Please prove to me how Arsenal broke any rules, played dirty, or any thing that was outside of the Cal South rules.

Your "integrity" comment truly applies to the use of ECNL players - which applies not just to Arsenal but to other teams that played in this tournament.

Your integrity comment is only an opinion and not based on any substantial fact . . . other than Arsenal used ECNL players, dominated the field, pissed off alot of parents and teams along the way, won the championship and appeared on Cal South Video raising the cup, other than that please show me how any rules were broken?
