Not sure who JCK is ...

Saudi should be a great venue, they only have to build 11 of the 15 stadiums in their "bid", and of course there is the great city of Neom which is one of the 4 host cities ... and hasn't actually been built yet either! As a summer World Cup, because Qatar was a one off Winter WC - everyone was told ... yeah, it'll need to be Winter again screwing up 2 years of club soccer.

Should open a book on how many migrant workers die building all this ....

JCK = Jared Corey Kushner. He has connections in SA.
 
This whole thing is a FIFA sellout. After Qatar they should know better. Putting the world cup in the winter screwed up so many schedules and no rest for the Athletes caused huge amounts of injuries. But FIFA corruption knows no bounds so here we are

I thought we had cured the endemic FIFA corruption when Interpol and Swiss police raided the headquarters and arrested the usual suspects. I stand corrected.

If you look at how Saudi actually got the World cup .. its pretty sketchy. They intentionally put a small number of games in africa in 2030 to take them out of contention for the next round. 99% confidence that Saudi provided some "incentive" to FIFA so they were really the only potential bidder for the tournament that window.

The 2030 WC has venues in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Argentina & Paraguay, so taking out Europe, Africa & S America in one fell swoop. The submission deadline from announcement to end date was 30 days, with Australia being the only other viable entry but having to decline as they couldn't line up a bid in 30 days, surprisingly. The Saudis could because they could just list venues that don't exist and even a city too, backed up by pretty unlimited funds.

As for the winter WC, I wonder how the leagues will react, they said never again before, but $$$ may change that.

sorta makes you wonder who really asked for all those venues to be used? There are enough venues in Spain alone or maybe Spain and Portugal but the way this one event literally paved the road for Saudi has me suspicious there were shenanigans.

Suspicious, I'm way beyond suspicious and I doubt anyone is anything but. It amazes me that FIFA is allowed to do what it does without any particular regard for any consequences.
