Trump is not into paying Student Athletes

Interesting perspective from Trump. looks like he doesn't believe that student athletes at colleges should be paid for their efforts. Even discussed trying put things back the way things were with an Executive Order.

More details here...

For all the Trump haters and Trump lovers don't turn this into a politics battle. This post is more of a heads up that Trump doesnt think student athletes should get paid for their efforts.

I can't disagree. I think it was a mistake and hasn't done anything to make college sports better. There's probably other ways they could have taken care of the student athlete but we live in a time where common sense is the enemy.

On one hand, the colleges and conferences were making so damn much money for people to not demand a cut of that...

On the other hand, we are pretending it's "college amateur" sports when it's truly pro sports and they're not really "STUDENT athletes".

I say the bold and common sense thing is to call it pro sports and spin it out of colleges... Obviously you still need the colleges to provide the teams and there are a number of those who don't look at it as a professional endeavor and do just want to help pay for college and go into "regular" professions after college... so the logistics of it isn't easy...

I dont see anything bad with college sports continuing to exist. But I truly hate the concept of a student athletes. Just pay the players then charge them for college tuition if your end goal is to keep everyone under thumb.

The one benifit that I can see with colleges paying players is when this happens they can choose to integrate into pro leagues or minor leagues. How interesting would it be if college soccer teams competed in USL. Or if college teams were able to compete in minor league baseball leagues? Its silly that we have all these walls between different leagues when they dont need to exist at any level. The only people that benefit from multiple walled off leagues are league admins not players.
