Ole will be at the Thanksgiving Surf.
Great to hear SoCal!! A great movie line in one of the best movies ever, "The Warriors". Warriors come out to plaayaay! Wish I could attach the video, but has to be some elderly in here that remember this classic?! Just kidding Warriors and have to remember that The Warriors do win the day in the movie! Really want to see these girls play though? Any interest in The Surf Cup at Thanksgiving Warrior fans??? Would be awesome to see a lot of teams from several location brackets in So. Cal.!
Yes, I believe we will be there.@Bimmerdep will Ole be signing up for league cup?
Yes, I believe we will be there.
Yes we will be there. How about Surf tournament? Did you guys decide to go? We got accepted already. Hoping to go down and rock the boat down south. Would be nice to go together as 2 teams from the same club
Yes, I believe we will be there.
I like your line up but I wouldn’t exclude Blues Forsyth. Still a very competitive team.1. Blues mulligan
2. Legends
3. HB slammers
4. Murrieta surf
With in 1 year either legends or slammers will be the better team. They battle and are way more thick skinned than the blues girls.
Well said @Livipool, agreed.mr yuzo- not sure I would post negative comments about a team especially since they’re 7 and 8, just my humble opinion concerning your statement about Blues Rennie-Mulligan 2011 lacking “thick skin”. The team works hard enough to have a respectable record thus far. They’ve got a long way to go as soccer players and are enjoying the ride and journey while still smiling at the end of the day. I know as my daughter plays on the team. All the girls work hard but maybe not to your standard. Rennie-Mulligan recruit and develop talented players. Best coaches I’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting on the sideline for. Slice it either way you wish. The team played with 1 sub and battled. Maintaining a 1-0 lead is one of the most difficult victories to walk away with especially with 8 players. Soccer is an eloquent game when played properly and can be unforgiving, even for the team that sweats the most. The team that runs the hardest or “boots the ball” doesn’t always come away the victory. Blues teach proper technique and tactics with emphasis on development during this long journey. I’m sure you know all this so I’ll stop here. Please be careful poking the bear. Be respectful of the comments you post as they can be unforgiving. Anyways best of luck and congrats to the HB. You did well girls .
@Livipool - I agree and that’s the beauty of soccer it’s unpredictable. A good coach will know the teams pros and cons, sometimes ‘booting the ball’ and playing counter-attack is what works. It’s all about the play scheme. What I don’t understand is the Blues being so proactive on recruiting. It seems a large portion of people on here think highly of Rennie-Mulligan training/development methods. If so, why recruit and not bring on a couple B type players and develop them instead of draining your girls every game with 1 sub?

Agree that players need to put time in outside of practice if they want to accelerate development. But be careful not to downplay the importance of coaching at this young age. There are so many elements to soccer that go beyond running fast/playing hard/kicking the ball far. A truly good coach will instill in the kids a mindset of being able to read the game and how to play in a dynamic team passing environment. You may not see that right now and takes time to develop...but it will become apparent down the road. You can not succeed at a top club for the long haul Training 2 days a week With a coach. Now days I think Most kids And parents know that. Everyone thinks it’s the coach that develops players. It’s actually the players that develop themselves. Coaches only have the time To fine tune and tweak elements and hopefully the kids mature enough to be reciprocal and I engage/retain and execute feedback. It’s utterly impossible in SoCal unless you put time In and learn to Love the beautiful game. Every player has to put the time In.
Comment is understandable and I wish I had more insight. Merely a parent on the sidelines watching the process and as much as I cringe I’m smiling a lot more As well as my kids. It’s tough no doubt about it. I’m not a coach so I’ll not delve into the recruiting and maintaining of players. I’ve got 2 daughters that play on Blues (12s, 11s). Both completely different mentalities but the same player in essence. They’ve given them both the platform and time to develop, mature And compete. That’s all I can ask as a parent. I know that nothing is promised and my 7 and 8 year old know that too (truly). I know any day that both their Roster spots can be gone and I’m ok With that. Yes there’s recruiting and the staff make it aware from the start. It’s life and oversees they’re doing it and that’s the way a program succeeds and finds the best youth talent. Look at the Ajax Youth System. Maybe one of the best in the world. The recruiting is fundamental to the process. My opinion is that it creates a competitive environment and as tough as it might be, it’s up to the family and child ultimately. I’ve noticed that every player On the 11s and 12s are different but all Needing time and energy in certain regions of their game. Coaches here know that and sort it out at their time while picking moments to challenge them. Just because a player doesn’t make it here doesn’t necessarily mean they are a B player. Maybe just not the right fit. Anyways, can’t say enough about the coaches and mentality at blues. It’s the closest to a youth academy that I’ve seen for girl’s by far. Not knocking other clubs either as many are doing a fantastic job for women’s soccer and it’s great to see.
If the rumors turn our to be true with Beach SB absorbing Galaxy SB hopefully Beach will be able to shake that list up next year. both teams have a couple strong players and if they combine could be really good.I like your line up but I wouldn’t exclude Blues Forsyth. Still a very competitive team.
1. SoCal Blues Mulligan
2. legends FC
3. HB Slammers/SoCal Blues Forsyth (would love to see this match again, maybe Surf Cup Thanksgiving weekend?)
5. Murrieta Surf
@MSK357 Man it would be great seeing a great outcome for the girls in the South Bay side! I know Strikers FC SB tried to build a 2011 team but that didn’t come through. I believe South Bay FC has also started forming a team. Best of luck!If the rumors turn our to be true with Beach SB absorbing Galaxy SB hopefully Beach will be able to shake that list up next year. both teams have a couple strong players and if they combine could be really good.
Morelife you are the encyclopedia of 2011G soccer. Good shit lol1. Blues Mulligan
2. Legends
3. Slammers HB
4. Blues Forsyth
5. Ole
6. CA Warriors
7. Slammers Cruz
8. Eagles
9. LA Galaxy SD
10. LA Surf SO/LA Galaxy OC
Here is my list. I am using the entire year's worth of results when I make this. LA Surf SO beating Ole after 3 tries, Eagles finally beating Warriors after 5 tries and Slammers Cruz finally beating HB after 4 tries does not get them to jump ahead of these teams in my eyes. I know all of these teams are developing and I wish they were all at Surf Challenge next weekend!
There were a couple upsets throughout the league but I do agree with your overall standings. Great competition out there making the whole season exciting till the end. Much thanks to @m0relife for pulling all the data in!1. Blues Mulligan
