This is a perfect reason why I can't take the GOP, Fox News, or any of the conservative media seriously.
In just the past couple of days Donald Trump's declared that he's going to close the Strait of Hormuz that Iran's already closed — but had been collecting fees to allow certain ships to cross for the past few weeks that this president apparently had no idea was happening despite everyone else knowing that it was going on. Additionally, he publicly attacked the Pope as "weak," tried to take credit for him being given the position as leader of the Catholic Church, and a few hours after that shared an image of him on social media depicting himself as Jesus Christ.
Yet the folks who lost their shit when Barack Obama wore a tan suit or a helmet while riding a bike seem mostly quiet concerning this behavior from Trump.
This is why everything about the right is fake.
Their so-called "values," their self-proclaimed "Christianity," their "outrage" — it's all bullshit.
You can't sit here and expect me to take anyone seriously who lost their minds over some of the silly, stupid-ass things Republicans and the conservative media flipped out over when Obama or Biden were president, who are now either silent or defending Donald Trump from much... much worse scandals and controversies.
Which just tells me that none of what they say means anything. Their entire worldview on anything is totally dependent on which party does it.
And don't give me the bullshit "both sides do it" nonsense, either.
Rep. Eric Swalwell, possibly the favorite to be California's next governor, was accused by several women of sexual assault and, within hours, you had top Democrats and many members of the party calling for him to suspend his campaign and others saying he should resign from Congress.
Which Swalwell has since ended his campaign for governor and everyone I've spoken to has said, if guilty, he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Republicans wouldn't have done that. Hell, Trump has over 20 accusations of sexual assault, and a 15+ year friendship with a child predator he's ordered his DOJ to cover up, and they're still all fully behind him.
After years of pushing some of the most insane conspiracies against Democrats and child trafficking you've ever heard of by many conservatives, even Trump's ongoing attempt to protect child predators hasn't swayed their support — that's how full of crap these people are.
They believe in nothing other than "owning those libs." That's all.
Their entire worldview on any given topic, issue, or scandal isn't based on morals, principles, or values — just what letter comes next to the person's name at the ballot box.
Because I can promise everyone reading this, if a Democrat had publicly attacked the Pope, shared an image of themselves depicted as Jesus Christ, and made comments concerning the Strait of Hormuz that clearly showed they weren't aware of the well-known reality that Iran had been allowing some ships to pass through, Fox News and the Republican Party would be losing their damn minds right now rather than trying to defend the most unfit and unhinged person to ever be allowed to call themselves president.
