Today in Fascism

Slick and Cankles are worried about the dismantling of America. They want the committee to focus more on preventing crimes like Epstein from happening again. I guess moreso than going after the Clintons who committed the crimes? I'm gonna enjoy this one.

Trump is attempting to tear apart NATO. Putin’s dream
By encouraging protesters in Iran he is getting them murdered, tortured and jailed.
The big bill that funds ICE beyond reason hasn’t raised the deportation numbers anywhere near Obama’s.
Once nearly eradicated infectious diseases are on the comeback.
The wealthy gap has expanded exponentially.
Trump’s secret police are terrorizing US citizens.
China has record exports by simply shifting away from the US as have others around the globe.
Groceries are way up.
MAGA?

Lets go point by point.

Trump has been pushing NATO to spend at the limits they are required to under the NATO treaty. For decades Euro NATO countries have underspent. It is good policy to force them to spend what they are required. It is bad policy for the US to foot the majority of the bill. All the past presidents have complained about their lack of spending. T is the only one making them start to spend more.

The Iranians have been in a theological dictatorship for 50 yrs. Economically the country is in shambles. These protests were started by the Iranians themselves. The US along with the rest of the West SHOULD push to get rid of the ayatollahs. Iran under the ayatollahs have been THE disruptive force in the middle east by funding terrorist groups to the tune of 10s of billions, if not more.

Anywhere near Obamas deportation numbers. You are comparing Obamas 8 yrs in office vs 1 yr of T. During his eight years in office, the Obama administration deported more than 3.1 million individuals, according to data from Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC). Other sources place the number of formal removals at over 2.7 million people.
Under T in one year, he has deported 2.5 million people (deported/self deported). Give him another 3 yrs and you will see vastly different numbers. Further border crosses are at something like a 50 yr low under T. For decades we have been told the only way to control the border, etc was to craft a "bipartisan" amnesty deal. Turns out you just need to enforce the law.

What diseases are coming back suddenly under T? We do know that many of the 10 million plus Biden let into the US were not vaccinated and they did bring in disease. That is probably what you refer to. There is however no policy T has put in force that has caused nearly eradicated diseases to come back.

The wealth gap has not expanded exponentially in the last year. That is just what your read in the fever swamps you live in.

We do not have a secret police. Nuff said.

If China is exporting elsewhere that is fine. What T has been working on is preventing China from dumping products here in the US at prices that hurt US companies.

Groceries way up? Annual inflation in 2025 came in at 2.7 percent — the lowest annual rate since 2020, when President Donald Trump was last in office. That 2.7 percent figure is especially notable because it marks the first time inflation has returned to something resembling normal since before former President Joe Biden took office. In the final year of Trump’s first term, annual inflation was just 1.4 percent. Under Biden, inflation skyrocketed, reaching 7.0 percent in 2021, 6.5 percent in 2022, before slowing to 3.4 percent in 2023 and 2.9 percent in 2024.

Alright, let’s deal with this one, because this is peak dumb-fuck internet energy.

Some MAGA dullard DMs me with, “You should shut your mouth about America and Donald Trump. You’re just a dumb Aussie. Without America you’re nothing. We protect you.”

Oh yeah? Do ya, champ? Do ya really?

First of all, calm down there, Captain Freedom. You’re acting like America personally stands outside everyone’s house every night with a rifle and a bald eagle, going, “Sleep tight world, Daddy’s here.”

Let’s get one thing straight. America is not the sole maker and breaker of global peace. That’s Hollywood bullshit you grew up mainlining with your popcorn.

NATO alone, NATO, meaning a bunch of countries who can actually organise a meeting without screaming at each other like toddlers, absolutely dwarfs the American military. Not just in manpower, but in combined capability, logistics, intelligence, tech, and industrial output. America is a big piece of the puzzle, sure, but it’s not the whole bloody table.

Now let’s spice it up.

Add Japan. One of the most technologically advanced militaries on the planet. Add South Korea. Add Australia. Add New Zealand. Add Taiwan, who’ve been staring down a giant authoritarian neighbour for decades without shitting themselves. Add half of Europe. Suddenly this idea that “without America you’re nothing” starts to look like something written on the back of a Monster Energy can.

Here’s the part that really seems to fry your circuits.

The world is waking up. Rapidly. Not because of Aussies mouthing off, but because the Trump administration showed everyone exactly how unstable relying on one country can be. Allies get threatened. Trade deals get torched. Tariffs fly around like drunken punches. Longstanding partnerships get treated like optional subscriptions.

So now everyone’s going, “You know what? Maybe we shouldn’t put all our chips on one bloke who changes his mind every four hours.”

And guess what? The deck chairs are already moving.

China’s been actively decoupling from reliance on the US market. Europe’s doing the same. Supply chains are being rerouted. New trade blocs are forming. America didn’t get “abandoned”. America did this to itself by swinging at everyone in the room and then acting shocked when people step back.

And here’s the real kicker, the bit no one waving a flag likes to talk about.

The United States is sitting on the highest debt levels in the history of mankind. Not American history. Human history. A house of cards stacked so high it makes a Jenga tower look stable. Trillions in interest. Trillions more in borrowing. All while screaming at the very countries that buy its bonds, prop up its currency, and keep the whole thing from tipping over.

So when you say, “Without America, you’re nothing,” maybe take a breath and flip that sentence around.

Because at the end of the day, the only fucking thing holding the United States together right now is the rest of the world it’s busy picking fights with.

Careful what you wish for, mate.

You don’t get to threaten everyone, insult everyone, destabilise everything, and then assume they’ll just keep turning up forever explaining how grateful they are.

That’s not strength. That’s delusion. If Mango Mussolini keeps pushing the globes buttons pretty soon it'll push back.

While I loathe Donald Trump with every fiber of my being, I do love the fact that he’s proven that everything folks like myself have been saying about the Republican Party and the conservative movement has been absolutely spot-on all these years.

They’re not concerned with actual Christian values. It’s impossible to follow the true teachings of Jesus Christ while supporting Donald Trump. His behavior and the words of Christ are the antithesis of one another.

Obviously, they’re not small government. You can’t be an advocate for small government when you support a president who wants to rule as a dictator, has ordered the National Guard to patrol many of our nation’s streets, and believes he can abuse the power of the federal government to force states into doing what he wants.

That whole “Second Amendment guards against tyranny” bullshit was always just that — bullshit. You don’t get more tyrannical than the vice president of the United States saying that federal agents have immunity to do whatever they want.

And we don’t really need to go too deep into the “free trade capitalism” nonsense. Much like Trump’s behavior and the words of Christ, you give up any stance that you’re for “free market capitalism” when you back someone whose entire economic policy is based upon tariffs and raising consumer taxes on every American.

Respect for the military? Not even close. Not only did Trump lie about a bonus for most of the men and women serving this nation (while they were paid, he didn’t pay for it from tariff funds — he took money meant for affordable housing for the military and repurposed it so he could take credit for something), he’s routinely shown that he has no problem displaying zero respect for any veteran who speaks out against him. We’ve never had a president show the military more disrespect than this draft-dodger.

Don’t even make me laugh about their supposed “respect for the Constitution.” Donald Trump is, by far, the most unconstitutional president in this nation’s history — an individual the Founding Fathers literally designed our system of checks and balances and co-equal branches of government to protect against should someone like Trump get elected.

And while they talk a lot about “freedom of speech,” that’s total bullshit. You won’t find a more anti-free-speech president than Donald Trump. The only “free speech” he supports is that which supports him and his ideas. Anything to the contrary he wants canceled and silenced.

I’m not sure I really need to even discuss the party of “family values,” either. I think a twice-divorced individual who’s cheated on every single one of his wives and has five children with three different women pretty much speaks for itself as far as those “values” go.

Same goes for the whole “respect the rule of law” and “law and order” propaganda. This is someone who pardoned over 1,600 criminals, frequently attacks the judicial branch when they rule against him, has pushed conspiracies about the FBI, and has effectively turned the presidential pardon into a pay-for-play scheme where there’s growing evidence he’s selling them to whoever pays him enough for one. We’ve never had a president who’s so blatantly shown he couldn’t give a damn about any rule of law outside of what he thinks is or isn’t just and legal.

We’ve known for a while that the party of “fiscal responsibility” has been a laughable bunch of nonsense. They haven’t had a president from their party balance the budget since Dwight D. Eisenhower in the ’50s. Furthermore, not only has Trump added trillions to the nation’s debt — he’s added more than any other president in history.

Then there’s the bigotry and racism aspects we’ve all claimed the GOP has backed for decades. This is the party that was reinvented by what’s known as the “Southern Strategy” in the ’60s, where they targeted white resentment toward Black people who were being given more rights. Now we have a blatant racist in Stephen Miller serving in a very powerful position within our government — someone who, if you put a Nazi war uniform on him, would look right at home. There’s no debate that Miller is an absolute racist. Hell, the GOP has become such a pit of racism that Elon Musk recently shared a post that literally advocated for white supremacy, and it wasn’t even a major headline. That’s how much racism has become accepted within the conservative movement.

The list goes on and on.

For years, people like myself have called out the contradictions and hypocrisy on the right — a group of people who claim to stand for something when their actions tell an entirely different story.

All it took was the right kind of lowlife piece of garbage to put it all out there on full display.

And Donald J. Trump is the perfect lowlife piece of garbage who did just that. ~ Allen Clifton
