With a kid that is a high school senior this is very disheartening to see. His public school is very rigorous academically, but he's also not in the San Diego or Los Angeles Unified School Districts which I believe is the root of some of the issues.

The sad part with the UC schools is its very difficult for "regular" kids with great grades to get in. Not sure who the kids with remedial math scores are that are getting into the UC's, particularly UCSD. College for my daughter has been relatively easy for her because of her HS education and she has been very surprised by the lack of college preparedness of many other students.

My dd was blocked entry from the UC of Control (UCC) in California because she said no to the jabs. I'm still SMFH that happen to her. Full rides but not for her unless she obeyed. Same thing happen to her at the now failed GDA. Yup, you can't play in our league unless you give up public high school soccer because we are the boss. You also must play soccer 24/7, 365 days out of the year and don't you dare think about having fun in high school and play other sports. It's the GDA or else. Oh my, what a crock of poo poo that was. Total control freaks tried hard but now their control is no more, unless you let them.

And while this was happening...the leadership was touting excellent grade results in middle/high school.

They had a couple of options...

Make course work more rigorous which would help students OR
Avoid doing that, focus on worthless classes, and inflate grades to make the teachers and school districts look good.

They took option 2.

As Husker said the D leadership likes its constituents uneducated and pliable.

Fair enough. I am prone to repost things I feel get right to the heart of the matter. I see no redeeming qualities in trump, none. Like any conman he knows how to put up window dressing to feign the appearance of concern for issues concerning the mark (in this case the American people that support him). Some of us see through it.
