Today in Fascism

Ah, the joys of suicidal empathy. 😂😂😂😂

I will vote for the 1st presidential candidate that says they will implement and enforce internal controls for the giving of Federal aid, welfare, stimulus, etc. Unfortunately, DOGE didnt do that.
Agreed. There are too many Republican who won’t vote for it, or it would be in place now. Sad. But, a lot of Congress is compromised - on both sides. Of course, the Left doesn’t want this, so compromised or not, they won’t vote for it.

Paris has cancelled their big New Years celebration due to security concerns.

Did the French suddenly become violent?

Or is it a certain segment of immigrants they brought in who do not believe in Western values?

Europe has a big problem now due to the millions of muslims they brought in.
They need to quit selling those weaponized knives!

We still have a way to go, but we're headed in the right direction. Sorry Husker.
Remember all the crying from the left saying tariffs would make inflation spike?

We now have better trade deals allowing American companies better access to foreign markets.

We now have created incentives for American companies to manufacture here.

We have gotten multi trillion dollar commitments from foreign companies to invest in America...

Etc. etc.

Long term the change in trade policies may be one of the most important Trump accomplishments.

Tariff-sensitive items were little changed over the past 12 months.
The apparel index is up 0.2 percent year over year, while the new-vehicle index has risen 0.6 percent over the 12 months ending in November. Additionally, on an annualized basis, appliances have increased by 0.5 percent, smartphones have declined by 9.4 percent, and footwear has dipped by 0.1 percent.

You say that like it’s a bad thing. No wonder you’re fine with giving the anti-intellectuals a shot.
The Ivies today are a hive mind. They produce people with a singular mindset that is not open to different opinions.

The quality of their education has dropped significantly. Most people at those schools today get A's. Not because they are working hard but due to grade inflation.

Their are plenty of other academic institutions that provide excellent education.

The US is better served if the people in government come from a range of institution vs a few that reside within a very small geographical area and come from the same core families that generally speaking are liberal.

One example of group think they have is regarding Israel and peace. They have tried the same failed policies for decades now. Kerry is famously on film saying Arab countries will not agree to work with Israel until the Palestinian problem is solved. In Trumps first term he didnt listen to that advice and got the Abraham Accords signed. That brough in UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, Kazakhstan. Saudi Arabia has started to work with Israel and may join.

This is an example of why you want to bring in other ideas/people from places other than the Ivies.

Food prices are currently going up faster than inflation.
From NBC today...

In September, prices in the food category were rising at a 3.1% annual rate. In Tuesday’s release that’s slowed to 2.6%.

By way of comparison Husker the overall inflation rate reported today is 2.7%. So I know math is hard for you...but food inflation is currently LOWER than the overall inflation rate.

Our experts in the media (many from the Ivies by the way) assured us early this year that tariffs would make inflation skyrocket.

I know it's a big ask...but just once..once..I'd love for you to post an original thought from that head full of emptiness on your shoulders..instead of simply copying and pasting what you read online. As soon as I see your post turning into some long-winded diatribe you took off the internet I just keep on scrolling.
Are you not fond of his other posts that are "non-sequitur, whataboutism"?

It has surprised me with some of its positive benefits (what Crush calls eating crow), however, it has forced some small businesses to close and other small businesses to take on more debt at higher rates to cover tariff costs.

Not surprisingly Husker is against tariffs because Trump did them, despite the fact that unions have been one of the biggest proponents of tariffs to protect inflated American union wages.
