Cisker & Fudd want folks to turn in their weapons and surrender to the far-left cause. The far right want you to turn yourself into church and obey the pastor. Both are not good but if one so chooses either of these two, they free to choose brother. I think everyone is full of fear and when their full of shit as well, well then, we got problems. The Great Divide. I really just want to be free and left alone. I don't want no jabs or even flu shot. I want to live and die alone in peace.
I'm not sure what's more authoritarian than get the vaccine or lose your job (can't go to school etc), or quarantining everyone, including healthy people in their homes. Lest we forget, here are a few nuggets.
-Prohibiting going to the beach and public parks, getting in the ocean
-Open the beach but you have to be actively moving. Walking one direction on the shoreline, and the opposite on the boardwalk (I got kicked off the beach for fishing)
-Live music OK, but no dancing
-No singing at church
-Filing skateparks with sand
-Open boating, but only 2 passengers per boat
-Limit the number of people that gather in your home
But worse of all, close schools.
It's beyond crazy that anyone can still rationalize these measures. Is it still fear, or just fear of being wrong?

Lose your job=lose the ability to pay your bills. Can't pay mortgage payments with no job. No school for those MAGA kids that said no to jabs and without the jabs, were blocked a free education. This is what folks like Dad, espola and Husker Du did to families like mine. No remorse, no, "I got it wrong crush." I go 911 wrong and I say sorry all the time. Wounded Vets from that BS war that I supported. I eat crow all the time for being wrong about the Bush family. The Cheney's played me like a fiddle. I see now what these criminals are after.

Depends on the perspective. The MSM uses fear mongering as a way of controlling behavior. Many buy into it fully. In Silicon Valley there are certainly elites who are still afraid - just think about what happened with Howard Hughes. Intelligence does not imply rationality. Then we have bureaucrats with power. It has nothing to do with fear. Do you think Newsome was worried about Covid when he was at The French Laundry? Newsome and Biden are simply nihilists. They live a life without any underlying morality that guides them.
I was thinking in terms of the followers in regards to fear. The leaders are about control and power.

I think many are legitimately afraid - which, of course helps the leaders stay in power. The good news is that the MSM is losing influence as more people realize their intentional bias.

Howard Hughes--the billionaire aviator, motion-picture producer and business tycoon--spent most of his life trying to avoid germs. Toward the end of his life, he lay naked in bed in darkened hotel rooms in what he considered a germ-free zone. He wore tissue boxes on his feet to protect them.

Howard Hughes was a drug addict with what amounted to an unlimited amount of money so he could do whatever his staff said he wanted to do. How does that relate to your fear of covid prevention measures?

Howard Hughes was an intelligent, accomplished man - to say the least. But his fear wasn't rational.
So, when the school district told me to get my kid immunized for measles, that counts as authoritarian?

Howard Hughes accomplished many things before his addiction to pain-killing drugs (legally prescribed because of the suffering he endured after multiple plane crashes) turned him into a paranoid druggie, speaking only to trusted members of his staff.
Not remotely comparable. The measles vaccine had been proven effective for over decade before it was mandated and has never been mandated to go out in public.
My adopted papa worked for Mr. Hughes back in the late 60s & 70s. The company parties were amazing and full of amazing food. Disneyland for Hughes Employee Appreciation Day. The whole Park for us only. It was a amazing. Howard would come by and say hi. I was a young boy but boy I do remember the food, the rides and all the perks.
