Today in Fascism

Yeah, moral ground. If your morals and my morals don't match up, I may not want your business.

'a person's standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do.'

I think we all get a chuckle when you imply there's only 1 profile in your repertoire.
I have actually had DM conversations with Husker and others your superstition says is me, and I'm not talking to myself.

Here's a snip of one header --

I don't disagree with you but keep in mind (unless I'm wrong) but Disney picked that fight with DeSantis. Kind of like Trump and John McCain. I LOVED McCain when he was a senator in Arizona. I admired him having the guts to speak the truth and ignore party politics. He was a different man when he ran for the White House. That said, people took issue with Trump taking a shot at John being a prisoner. Well, Trump can be a douchebag, but McCain threw the first punch. You don't get to cry "victim" when you throw the first punch.

When DeSantis felt schools needed to be cautious in talking about sexuality, gender, etc., Disney took it upon itself to be critical. You're a fucking amusement park, right? Same deal to me. You throw the first punch, you aren't immune to getting hit back better and harder.
That "amusement park" is a multi-billions/year enterprise in the heart of Florida's economy.

Fighting back by weaponizing the government against Disney isn't the appropriate way to go. If RDS felt he needed to fight back he could have chosen a different way.

I think feeling the need to respond to every slight is part of the problem with our politics today. This tit for tat behavior is part of why politics are so divisive and uncivil these days. Often when you return punches you are just stooping to the first punchers level. Sometimes taking the high road is the best response, and sometimes its better to quickly counter punch.

So that entitles them to take a shot at the governor who has ultimate responsibility for the educational system? I'd imagine the location and tax breaks help Disney every bit as much as the revenue helps Florida.

I agree... but I'd argue Disney has no business telling the governor how to run schools and curriculum. Disney doesn't give a shit about curriculum. Disney was flexing its "wokeness" like the other idiots. That's as asinine as a gay man telling us he's celebrating 365 days of womanhood. And with Disney, Trump, Newsom and all the "asylum seeker" supporters (coast to coast) coming after him, DeSantis felt the need to push back.

I agree in theory and I am not arguing with the premise of what you are saying. I feel like RDS took it too far. However, I also feel that there is a general lack of courage to call BS and this lack of courage is allowing travesties to continue. At this point, it’s a worse mistake to be too timid versus too bold. It appears things are turning back toward sanity - and I do mean sanity because some of what is being celebrated today is mental illness. I’ve never seen the new Prime Minister of Italy until this video below. She describes our current state succinctly.

Did it go over your head that I was criticizing Biden?

Nope. But if obviously went over your head that I was doubling-down on your statement, adding that your boy is the same idiot that gave America our most recent SCOTUS appointment. Someone educated enough to make it to the highest court in the land, yet unable to define what a woman is, despite being one herself. Box checked. Good job. (More sarcasm)

The problem is most people just go along and at some point the madness grows and is everywhere and they just accept it because they dont want to be singled out.

Then what you see is Desantis and in school board meetings people start to wake up and say enough of this crap. It does however take someone willing to put their neck out and start the process of fighting back.

So many things need to be pushed back against.

Woke
The trans crap where people are being taught there are countless genders and hey we have now people who give birth, menstrauting people, etc and all the other stupid stuff they do. Men in womens sports.
Etc etc.

They new Prime Minister of Italy is good. When she was elected many in the western press derided her a a wanna be fascist, racist, etc. Surprisingly one of the people who came to her defense and said that was ridiculous was her political opponent she beat for the office. The guy said I have battled her for years in politics and disagree with many of her positions, but she is no racist, right wing extremist.
