The optics of this issue are not good for Dems. Most people conflate the guys character with his right to due process. Maybe he deserves to be deported, maybe not- my understanding is that there was an order withholding deportation after an order of deportation. In any event, the bigger issue is that he is in jail without a trial. The guy has a right to due process before incarceration regardless of whether he's a likable family man or a gang member, much like the Nazis in Skokie had a right to free speech. You know, that democracy and following the Constitution stuff.Tennessee Star is not a legitimate news source, neither is social media. The story may or may not be true, but I dont see it being picked up by any established news sources, even those that lean right. Now, that doesn't mean that the guy isn't a bad dude. His domestic abuse incidents appear well documented. However, that still isn't an excuse to ignore due process.
After its all said and done, this issue may reflect more poorly on the Dems than on Trump, given the zeal with which they Dems are pursuing the return of a guy with dubious character at best. Its fascinating who the Dems choice to glorify. It appears they may represent less than 20%. Maybe the Dems are the new 1 percenters!
Regarding Rachel Morin, I feel bad for the poor mom, but two things can be true at the same time. Some immigrants do commit crimes and the Obrego Garcia guy is entitled to due process. I do find it odd that the same people that put her forward are the same people that have a fit when people want to talk about gun control after kids being massacred at school. They claim to be disgusted for using the families for political purposes and offer “thoughts and prayers.”
