Again, the point you keep missing is that this isn't about Trump. If what you believe about Trump is so awful, it should have been rather simple for the Dems to defeat him, but alas here we are. This is mostly about Dems "jumping the shark" on a multitude of issues. Do you actually believe that Dems stunts last night we're even remotely helpful to their cause?

Or the Republicans could get back to their actual avowed values. It’s not easy defending against the fantasy world Trump tries to push to get everyone (Including Republicans) to follow him down the rabbit hole.

I don't see the Repubs movement away from being so Hawkish as a bad thing, as opposed to the Dems movement away from controlled immigration which has had disastrous results.

Back to your point. I'll agree that there are some Republican's that are too quick to rationalize some of Trump's more controversial actions. I don't see it as a wholesale change of values, except maybe when it comes to some of the isolationist aspects.
