Functionally, he is a dictator until martial law is rescinded. For some leaders, such as Marcos in the Philippines, martial law settled into a dictatorship.Zelensky is clearly not a dictator. He was elected in 2019 and there were no elections in 2024 due to the war which resulted in martial law
And the Ukrainian parliament has extended martial law continually since 2022, which is unsurprising obviously. Parliament has the option not to extend it, though that would be extremely unlikely while Ukraine is at war. He has clearly defined and extended powers due to martial law. He's still their president, under their constitution, with the extended powers given by parliament typically every 90 days.Functionally, he is a dictator until martial law is rescinded. Martial law doesn’t say democracy to meAnd the Ukrainian parliament has extended martial law continually since 2022, which is unsurprising obviously. That doesn't say dictator to me, unlike say Putin!

As approved by their parliament with continual reviews, based on timelines set by their parliament, based on their constitution, because another country actual invaded them and they are at an existential crossroads as a country.Martial law doesn’t say democracy to me
Military decimated? That’s why Trump is trying to come to the rescue by giving Putin an off ramp.Come on, Zelensky is hardly a shrinking violet. He's not going to just roll over for Trump. (now, it actually sounds like any deal is off). That having been said Trump, is a genius at using leverage, and if he uses that leverage to end the war, more power to him. It benefits both Ukraine and Russian citizens.
Let's be perfectly honest, the US doesn't really give a shit about Ukraine. We only give a shit about stopping Russia. If Belarus got into a war with Ukraine we'd likely just sit on the sidelines. Ukraine is a highly corrupt country and is hardly a shining light of Democracy.
The war is at stalemate, and has been for a long time. The only thing that is going to change is the number of deaths. Even if Russia were to gain a little bit of territory in a settlement, Russia has effectively badly lost the war. Its military has been decimated and its economy seriously damaged. Estimates are that Russia has had 800,000 killed or severely wounded versus 80,000 for Ukraine. Claims of appeasement are comical (actually just TDS) if you end a war started by Russia without Russia even coming close to achieving their goal.
I was being facetious about Zelensky being a dictator, that was a response to your implication that Zelensky would sell out his country.
The Biden Crime Family were the real invaders of Ukraine and those who took the bribes and got blackmailed. As approved by their parliament with continual reviews, based on timelines set by their parliament, based on their constitution, because another country actual invaded them and they are at an existential crossroads as a country.

"At California’s Yosemite National Park, the Trump administration fired the only locksmith on staff on Friday. He was the sole employee with the keys and the institutional knowledge needed to rescue visitors from locked restrooms."
Yep, martial law - no elections, limited speech, etc.As approved by their parliament with continual reviews, based on timelines set by their parliament, based on their constitution, because another country actual invaded them and they are at an existential crossroads as a country.
OMFG - Nothing screams government job like “institutional knowledge” of restroom keys. Who among them has the institutional knowledge for wiping asses? Better not lose him or it could get messy!Found on the webz --
