Interestingly we've just had the most aggressive audit with prejudice against/on the Federal govt spending and the result is a claimed $150B in savings on a $6T+ budget (claimed as some say its really maybe $50B, but lets use DOGEs numbers). So that works out to less than 3%, which is pretty good (for the fed bureaucrats) I'd say as this generally appears to be mostly choices.
I know there's lost of screams of "fraud" and "waste", but the former will need to be supported by court cases and the latter, to me, falls in the choices bucket.
All that said, it beggars belief that only $150B can be identified; and it doubly beggars belief that the GOP is proposing to blow both the structural deficit out of the water and the national debt in the next few months.
Can’t argue with anything here - although fraud cases take time to gather evidence. But, yeah, nothing so far.
A few other things we learned are significant. While small relative to the size of the federal budget, the amount of unaccounted money can have a very significant influence. When you consider the government was funding numerous “news” agencies (it’s propaganda at that point) with legitimate funds, it doesn’t take much imagination to wonder how they are using the unaccounted money.
Are the NGO’s legal? I suppose so as things stand now. To my mind that’s inappropriate use of taxpayer funds at best - and many uses fall into a reasonable definition of corruption.
Social Security fraud is significant.
Illegals have voted.
Tax money has been used to fly in illegals and house them at upscale hotels. Legal? Crazy if it is.
Tax money supported speech censorship departments. Legal? Borderline at best. But anyone who is sincerely interested in democracy can’t support that.
Once I saw the Twitter files, I couldn’t unsee it. Globalist elites don’t care about democracy. Period. Look at Europe. They are canceling election results. They are arresting people for posts online and for praying silently on the street. These are the brethren of the leftists here who look with envy of the power the left has in Europe.
The budget deficit is a separate, but also an existential problem. It’s not quite as urgent, yet.
The easiest way for me to determine what the best direction for our country is to listen to what legacy media and the left is screaming about. The louder they are complaining, the more inclined I am to believe the opposite.
