Surf Cup

PRFC had a very poor showing this weekend overall in all age groups . Actually all of the AZ teams did, They teams play these meaningless tournaments locally to bring their rankings up and when something like SC or State Cup come around they just cannot compete with CA teams . Out of 14 finals , 1 AZ team made it in the youngers Surf cup.
You would of thought that with all their games during C-19 they would have competed better. I watch boys and girls and they (PRFC) cannot hang with any So cal team.
Congrats Surf and Tophat for making it in the finals in a few different age groups, and thanks for surf for putting on the event!!!!!

You should say "Thank You" to the city of mesa for saving Surf and save the AZ team bashing for another time. Given that PRFC played mainly their non ECNL/MLS/GA teams, I think they did pretty well against the behemoth that is SOCAL soccer. Congrats to all of the parents of socal ECNL teams that traveled to AZ to beat up on non ECNL/GA/MLS teams.

Below is just a tiny sample of how those crappy little AZ state league teams did against the might socal Ulittles. I'm sure there are other results.

In all seriousness, I'm glad the kids played. It's usually the parents that are annoying.

there was no other results and Im sure as informed as you are you notice that too. PRFC and RSL will alway be 2nd tier and how do you feel like they did pretty well , boys and girl side they didnt even get out of bracket play and maybe one win.

I thank AZ, I love Scottsdale and cave creek , bashing clubs that talk and claim to be the best is what I am here to do.

So Cal soccer is the best period.

I think in your imagination the AZ clubs are claiming to be the best. Again, congrats on driving to AZ to beat second and third teams. At least you made it here and back in one piece.

Surf should move the tournament to China. Americans are killing 2000 more people of covid every two days than have died in China during the entire pandemic. The American Way virus is a real bitch.

You also said they were a juggernaut. I am guessing you are basing that on their play vs weak GA teams.

I have nothing against the Royals. Their overall record last year across all age groups was a losing one. This year they are dominating. They didn't suddenly get better.
Neither of the RSL GAL teams (07/08) in Surf Youngers existed last year, so tough to judge them on that. The 07s lost to Surf who have been ranked in the top 5 or less nationally for the last couple of years. The 08s lost several players to injury in the first game. That was reflected in their results.

Agree on the weakness of GA - RSL would be better going into ECNL and/or ECNL would be better replacing AZ Arsenal with RSL to strengthen the league.

Nope. As I said before, I like how CA is handling this. Let me know if you need a little help with your cable bill or your kid gets a hat trick and you can’t afford to pay her the $30.
If I’d known you were footing the bill, I would have started paying for goals a while ago.

For tax purposes, do you mind contributing directly to her college fund?

No, you are now Mr. Wuhan. That's my new name for you. EOTL does not believe in the American Way. He believes in the Wuhan Way. I know many old pals WHO sold out to Wuhan and the Virus Way of life. Sell out? The commercials I'm hearing are insane. Hi @Mr Wuhan and happy new year :) 2021 is going to be so interesting you old soccer Doc. Have to come on here to go after the dads you always told me you hated because you hated your dad for making you play soccer everyday so YOU could be pro. You failed to make it pro, bro. I used my ego here because I know so many of you have really big egos. Mr Wuhan & Lastmans alter egos are in full display for all to read. Or, you can now listen to the voice of Crush and Dre in their native audio voices. Just like Dre said, Lastman is the last man I would ever take advice from. I called Mr Edison and they are super cool and wont shut off my heater. Thank God. I could use some help with my internet bill though.

The person I was talking to also is in the AZ forum. So our back and forth is a bit longer vs what you read above.

The gist of it is that more than a few are saying WOW Royals are really good this year. I have pointed out in the AZ forum that basically the top teams in DA all either left, went away, or put their top teams in ECRL.

Last year as a whole Royals over all age groups had a losing record. This year in GA they are absolutely rolling. It isn't suddenly because they became that much better, it is because the good competition isn't there anymore.

All that said I think it is a good club, with good coaches and they have some good players/teams.

If all the talent were in one league in the SW, Royals would do fine. In most cases middle of the pack (which is good considering how much deeper So Cal is), some cases worse, and in an age group here and there better.

To your other point, RSL is stronger vs Arsenal. To be honest as it stands currently RSL/Royals is the strongest club in AZ.

As a side note...I wonder what the Royals will call themselves next year? The NWSL Utah Royals has been disbanded and the women have been transferred to a yet to be named NWSL club in Kansas City. I am guessing they just call themselves RSL like the rest of the teams in the club.

I am curious to see what ECNL does next year with respect to the clubs in ECRL such as Beach, Legends, Pats, etc.

And holding steady at #40 in mortality rate. Pretty amazing given the population density.

Are you saying CA isn’t being restrictive enough?
Sort of. I would say that his ties to the restaurant and casino industries have led to some pretty bad decisions ignoring major indoor spreader venues while closing safer outdoor places.

But this is a soccer board, so I'll just say I am looking forward to league games- maybe in March.

Hey Dad and Wuhan, how many deaths were caused by kids playing soccer? Also, what are the odds for March action in California? I would love HS Soccer to be first in line to play games. I'm actually hearing it wont be until fall. 18 months of zero legal soccer.

Odds of March in CA are maybe 50/50.

Depends a lot on the vaccine, which I know is not your thing. Also depends on whether we open up indoor dining before outdoor sports. (Which would be stupid, but that has been the pattern)

But, if we have at least 15 million people vaccinated and if we have not opened up restaurants/bars/theaters, then March.

What will happen to my wife and I for just saying no?

You still don't get the data. The data shows lockdowns and masks don't work.

The concept behind both is that they limit the spread of the virus.

Take CA and FL. Both have very different approaches. One state is open and the other closed.

CA has 57k cases per million and FL has 61k cases.

If lockdowns and masked worked we would expect to see a dramatic difference in cases.

TX another state you said has been doing it wrong has 60k cases per million.

Those states have schools, restaurants, theaters and other indoor venues open and now for some time. CA doesn't.

Don't disagree with most of this. RSL as a whole is definitely the healthiest club in AZ (out of the "big 3").

Del Sol has the better 05,06, 02/03 teams. All 3 of those teams competed well against CA season and are basically intact. They like to run small rosters, which hurts them late into the season. They are second best at 07 (haven't seen a PRFC/DS game). Having to deal with an early entry into a league with the 08 team is something new to the club.

I believe Del Sol may have some choppy waters ahead of it. Their coaching staff is proven and is well connected. They seem to have 9 lives and always manage to recruit well when it counts. They hit a rough patch with their 04s and have basically written off that year group. The talent they lost is firmly entrenched at PRFC/RSL.

We will see what happens. They do a good job of placing girls in P5 schools and in good non P5 schools. They are also well connected in the YNT community - that matters enough to some parents and DS uses it to their advantage.

By the way, picked up a few Fate Brewery Candy Stout growlers today!!

Nothing. Some high risk places might require vax as a condition of attendance after reopening. MLS games, for example. Could also be required for school and sports.

But, for adults, within 12 months I would guess it's like declining the flu shot.
