Surf Cup

Both teams played pretty good soccer... results who cares I think it was an own-goal basically..... Slammers with very few quality chances maybe..... ..surf with a couple quality chances.... Both defenses held up. Both quality teams both have talented players as well as talented coaches.... If you are a result whore then you could get your jollies off that surf got beat but honestly no one on surf cares , we know we're getting taught quality soccer and in the end our players will be taken care of.

Only time will tell with the new field and 11 v 11
These 2 teams always give a good match and neither should be discounted.

A lafc parent told me that. Also said team has new parts and will only be better and yes it's a big-time win congrats and good luck
 
Heard it was a Slammers FWD that headed it in...
I know every time my DD and teammates step on the field the goal is to WIN. Play hard, play fast and play smart and at the end of the “Tournament” hold the championship trophy up.
 
We left surf a few years ago because of their lies and BS. I remember at a team meeting I asked Pauli Dolinsky why our SD surf team was not in Surf Cup? His response was it’s all handled by surf Cup sports and it’s based on your got soccer resume and rankings (lol). Long story short my friend got his team in from Mexico way after the deadline and said he spoke to Pauli directly and Pauli told him not to worry his team will get in. Sure enough the team got into surf cup with out any got soccer rankings.....

No, it was an own goal. One of the Surf defenders headed in the ball off a corner right before the keeper (my daughter) was able to grab it. While the result wasn't as I would have wished, it was a great, tough game played by both sides, and I was really happy with the way Surf played despite the loss. The team hadn't lost a game since November, so it was about time. If they had to lose I'm glad it was against the Slammers, and I am looking forward to the next time we play them!

What an unfortunate, petty and shallow post...although, not surprising from SD Surf. The irony is rich and true colors tend to emerge when there is a loss.

I'd say the "result whores getting their jollies off" are those who get U12 Girls a stretch limo at the field after a tournament win. It's no wonder we end up with a USWNT consisting of self-centered poor role models and terrible representatives of US Womens Soccer and this great country.

There is 'WINNING' and there are 'WINNERS':

'WINNING' is the goal of all players and teams as a culmination of dedication and hard work.

'WINNERS' possess Good Character, Class and Humility regardless of whether they win or lose.

Maybe Surf should consider caring enough to produce 'WINNERS' as well as 'WINNING'. Just a thought.

Apparently there is a need for a lot of explaining for a simple loss. Take comfort in knowing players tend to learn and grow more from a loss than a win.

It’s fact. Sorry.
The rest comes with the territory when you have a team as talented as this one. It’s to be expected. Slammers is an excellent team with some great parents. Many of these kids are good friends. Congrats to them on their West Coast Classic tourney win.
We all know soccer is a crazy sport and anything can happen in any game. This Surf team brings out the best in others and the kids understand that everybody wants to take them down. They have seen it all from teams that will try to play possession to those that sit back with 9 players that don’t cross midfield.
If you have an issue with Surf you may as well get in line. Teams that win consistently will always have this above their heads in any age group and in every sport.

You sound like Bill Belichick after a loss. Not sure I can agree with what you are saying here but hey, your opinion. I’ve seen a few cheeky comments from surf parents over this loss, let’s come down to earth a bit and remember they are 11 and 12. Congrats on your kids accomplishments, they earned everything.
