Surf Cup - DA --- Accepted Teams

I am going to date myself but it used to be the coolest walking through the tunnel at the POLO fields before it became a mud pit. Music blaring, energy high. The sign above you...it was very cool!
Surf Cup sports always does an amazing job.

You are not the only one that remembers those days....
 
We only got 1 year at the polo fields. It felt almost magical for our little girls. It's still a good event, but not the same.

Actually, the Thorns DA 04's will be predominantly last year's Earthquakes 04's and their coach.
 
Looks like DA brackets play July 28-Aug 1 to accommodate one day break after three games. ECNL (and other non-DA) play within those dates as well.

Other than subbing rules the major difference noted was the 10-minute difference in game length between, for instance, the u18 DA (45 minute periods) and ECNL (35 minute periods). Twenty minutes difference IMHO is a significant time difference when trying to "further evaluate" new talent? If I were ECNL I would probably have a discussion with Surf Cup admin and seek to get the game-length-times on par with DA.

These should be 8/5 - 8/7, the week after DA. And why is anybody still using the U-8 through U-19 system anymore? I hate that extra click to see if my dd's team is U-13 or U-14! Lol

August 5-7

It's interesting that there is one DA team that is not playing in the DA division. Placer is a DA club, but their top team in this age group is playing in the Super Black division.
