St Louis showcase

I saw that yesterday a lot of college coaches were at the bars and resturants because all the games were cancelled.
I talked to a few of them and they aside aside from the 25degree weather impacting the players they were concerend about injuries with the kids.
I peeked at the National selection game. Based on the filming, the attendance looked very low, there was audio which was just audience members, but no announcers.
Seems like an out of place event given location and time of year. Is St L. in December really a good place to hold an event outdoors in December?

There's never a good time to host anything in St. Louis. Maybe a World Series in October, but that city is a cesspool. Hosting any outside sports there in mid December is moronic.

The GA event at Norco Dec 6-8 is the smart play. Hundreds of coaches, just before the dead period, great weather and facilities.

Agree... my daughters team went to Tennessee in 2022 and it was freezing, it rained so venues got changed along with the times etc., 2023 team went again (Tennessee) and bad weather forced shortened game times and field changes, now this year games got cancelled in St. Louis. Not the greatest ideas scheduling during this time in the states they're selecting, but ECNL probably figures teams keep coming so why change??? But lets hope they do....

Insane!! I still remember a showcase showdown back in 2019 on the East Coast. I told the Doc were skipping this stupid showcase and I got in trouble. Not only was it freezing, but it was also super expensive. The team beat other teams by huge scores, like 12-0, I kid you not. One dad on another socal team came back sick and pissed. His daughter sat on the bench for one game in the cold and then played 10 minutes next game in ice and played one half the last game in light snow. Dumb Doc told the girls this is how you prepare for college traveling and some times kids don't play in college. This was his version, but dude was straight up honest dad, unlike others on here. His dd quit soccer.
