It does look like that. I would hope they don't have that much influence over SoCal that that would be the case.

Totally agree, I'm dumbfounded.
 
We are waiting to hear back from SOCAL. We were caught off guard, we thought we were in the sweet 16. Seems unfair for them to go against the rules on the website about crossplay.

Now, just no touch! Follow the bracket direction and let it play out. There are going to be some awesome games this weekend and next and they are scattered. May have to drive separately from the wife this weekend somehow! Working on a plan.
 
State Cup organizers have no clue what they're doing. This is what they posted, top two in each group/flight plus four wild cards. It's not that hard to get it right.

I think you misread the rules. It was the top 4 teams from the combined crossover groups (a/b, c/d, e/f) then 4 WC. So in the case of group C/D all teams came from one group (D) and then a wild card came from the other group (C). They did not take the top two from each group.

Where is that posted? That is not right. We're in round of 16 now. What you have would go straight to quarterfinals.

Round of 16= 4 teams from each of the 3 crossover groups + 4 WC. That is 16 teams

    • Cross Play: All teams in Group A will play everyone in Group B giving everyone 5 games. Most points represents Group A Winner. Second most points represents Group B Winner. Third most points represents Group A Second Place. Fourth most points represents Group B Second Place.
