San Diego Rush

What teams will Rush have does anyone know? GA? ECNL?
No teams are gifted entrance into MLS,ECNL,GA. It does not work like that, no matter what they tell you. If the "home brand" club has the letter league teams, the Home/Hub will keep the team, period. Just because EC changes the name of the club to Rush, Surf, Rebels, Albion, whatever, does not make them a part of the main club.
When a club joins as an affiliate/franchise it is only a marketing and insurance strategy/transaction. The affiliate gets access to the hubs insurance coverage and administrative connections, jersey branding (marketing). The Hub/Home gets to collect revenue via percentage of team fees, and uniform kick backs from the uniform suppliers. That is why there are constant uniform style changes, and mandatory kit purchases each year.
The Hub is not moving the team to an Affiliate, they are not bringing players over from the affiliate (via the club), they are not working together. It is all a marketing ruse. The Hub is not concerned about the affiliates player and coaching development. If the affiliate grows and becomes too successful, it becomes a business problem; the affiliate becomes the competition, instead of easy income.
The only way East County will get a MLS/GA/ ECNL league spot is the same way everyone else did. You have to earn it, by proving it. The club has to submit an application to the leagues, showing consistent performance of the teams, across all age groups, with proper licensing of the coaches, and stability of the coaches and players. You have to prove access to quality fields, and stability of administrative leadership.
East County does not have any of this. They did, when they were Liverpool. That was the entire goal of the club then. Build up quality teams from the youngers, then break into the letter leagues with local talent, before they are siphoned off by the other clubs when they become olders. It almost happened. Problem is Liverpool/EC Surf traded Board Positions, Coaching Assignments, and Player Spots to local teams to move over and join EC Surf.
JA stabbed the coaches and teams who built the club in the back. Once the EC teams and coaches started dominating the local leagues, JA started bringing in new coaches/teams and giving them first team spots, giving new parents board positions, and allegedly embezzled cash all along the way.
The new board at the time made a foolish mistake. They walked away from DPL after being accepted, and jumped head first into E64. I honestly believe East County would have been accepted into GA and MLS right now if they would have stayed the course with DPL and the existing coaches/players at the time. The board appears to make bad decisions and errors year after year.
There is only one way East County will ever get MLS/ECNL. They have to build up from the youngers. Keep good coaches. Keep corrupt directors and short sighted board members out of the organization. Place players on the appropriate teams.
