Rumors about ECNL girls admitting one or more top GA clubs for 24-25 season.

Marketing Men's domestic soccer here isn't easy here don't think women's will fare any better and honestly worse. USWNT due to their record and history have a following NWSL is banking on. If they fall off in competitiveness it will threaten NWSL and or the star players will leave for Europe for better pay or development. Getting Hayes as the new HC is a godsend but doesn't mean they are out of the woods. If she uses her influence and brings the USWNT team back to the dominant force it was there is a good chance. Unless that happens things will be sketchy.

The national numbers support your main point, that MLS Next is a step ahead of ECNL Boys (and everybody else). But the gap in team performance between the two is going to vary by area. You're right, that in AZ, it sure looks like a decent MLS team would be expected to flatten even the best ECNL team. There are several goals difference from Barca to the top ECNL team for example, usually Arsenal in most age groups. This isn't the same in other geographies. Yes, in most cases the MLS N teams are certainly on top, but the gap to a top ECNL team is quite narrow, sometimes less than a goal per game, let alone the 3-4 goals seen in AZ.

Yea that is really accurate for AZ. The other thing is they are giving ECNL to clubs that don't really have a ton of talent. Getting ECNL may boost their recruitment over the course of years but right now it is simply making Boys ECNL league look bad. It costs a ton of money for the travel and there are better teams in State leagues.

For sure, in AZ the ECNL/EA teams are not great. Actually, there are some pretty bad MLSN teams too. That said, if ECNL can tell Surf to drop boys DA (then) for boys ECNL to get their girls into ECNL, then they can do it to anyone. From an AZ perspective, they could tell say Rising and if Rising said no, they'd kick them - its not like any of the AZ girls ECNL clubs rock it after all.

And yes, Tuzos are the best boys development club in AZ, hands down.

The problem in AZ with the state leagues is that the big clubs created SAAZ and pulled their teams. They then demonstrated that they could do just as bad a job in a diluted league with many divisions made up of teams from the 2 clubs only ... an absolute shit show.

You posted the above predictions less than a week ago. Since then, 4 of the 7 listed clubs appear to have left GA and joined ECNL.

I'm not sure why you keep posting this as is. Adding the ranks would make everything clear to the reader. The clubs you listed second left GA to join ECNL because they must have thought it was a better fit. 1 of them is a top 20 club nationally, and 2 of the 3 clubs have had national championship winning GA teams. The clubs you listed first joined GA from leagues below, which was also certainly in each club's best interest and a step in the right direction. If this is intended to show direct competition and keep score between ECNL and GA - it just doesn't, at least to this audience. It was clear quite awhile ago, and is only getting clearer. Hopefully all of this movement provides more opportunities for players around the country to find teams that they can grow with individually and as a team.

Also Nobody has determined if ECNL has given Nationals 2 ECNL teams or 1 ECNL and 1 ECRL team.

And, if the Lonestar rumors are true, ECNL are still being jerks about the admission process. Sad to see that. A little bit of kindness on their part would have avoided the whole split to begin with. Or are we supposed to believe that Lonestar is weaker than Sting Austin?

Rumor is that Lonestar has lost most of its teams to Sting. The only one left is their 2010s. If it happens it's more of a club merger and talking peice for ECNL than anything else. This is why they're doing ECRL. (Assuming it happens)

Sting & PDA are the only clubs in ECNL with 3 teams in the league. This to me looks like a one year reprieve for Sting Austin before Lonestar gets 1 ECNL & 1 ECNL/R team, sort of like what happened with Beach & Legends.

No way to view this as anything other than major losses for GA. Four Champions league clubs, but even worse is that Nationals & Lonestar had 2 trams each, so it’s a net loss of 6 teams per age group and now a few of the conferences are dangerously thin, with bad travel.

I wish the leagues could just act like adults, put everything under one umbrella with different tiers and stop with the yearly musical chairs. It’s bad for the players and bad for US female soccer in general.
