Has the ECNL ever provided the formula for PPG?
Thanks for the help3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a tie
* Forfeits are recored as 3-0 wins for the opposite team.
** Showcase (out of league) games are counted in PPG
The total number of points divided by the number of games played = ECNL PPG
In the rules they are saying champions league ppg is counting the showcase games so everyone still should try to win those!!!3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a tie

Yea, that's why I included the statement that showcase events count against PPG. Seems wrong to include games where the goal shouldn't be to win in PPG. But it's probably just easier to include all the showcase games instead of breaking them out.In the rules they are saying champions league ppg is counting the showcase games so everyone still should try to win those!!!
so 1 win and 2 losses is better than 2 ties and a loss?3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a tie

Should have said 0 points for a lossso 1 win and 2 losses is better than 2 ties and a loss?

I looked it up and in 2021 people were complaining that showcase events were included in PPG. There were several discussions about it. I assume things haven't changed and that they were correct at the time. Are you sure about that? I don't think ECNL showcases count towards ECNL Nationals.
I should be more clear, the complaints were in 2023 not 2021 and it was that boys ECNL started including showcase results in seeding for playoffs (basically PPG). Apparently previous to 2023 showcase results were not included. People were complaining that clubs with influence higher up in ECNL were able to get guaranteed wins in showcase events. I would think that girls ECNL would follow the same rules. I'm not aware of any situations where rules for boys and girls ECNL differs.I looked it up and in 2021 people were complaining that showcase events were included in PPG. Showcases do NOT count for girls. They changed it three years ago.I should be more clear, the complaints were in 2023 not 2021 and it was that boys ECNL started including showcase results in seeding for playoffs (basically PPG). unless they change their rules but its in there right now and has been. Are you sure about that? I don't think ECNL showcases count towards ECNL Nationals.
Its in the rules my friend... For Southwest at least U15-U17, they are not included in the PPG calculation to get one of the 8 playoff spots its just included when they seed the 48 playoff teams.

hey at least ECNL has it in the rules so its clear. I don't like however how they also have in the rule book they can change it anytime for any reason they want.Yes, I was meaning for qualification only not seeding. My bad for not clarifying that.
Honestly, this is why people bad mouth social media to no end- dumb posts like this and responsesso 1 win and 2 losses is better than 2 ties and a loss?
