Playing two age groups on same day

Our club has indicated that my son will play for two different age groups and will play for both teams on match days. ECNL handbook, says players may only play one competition per day. Is this a stringent rule or is this rarely enforced?

If your team loses, no one cares. If your team wins, someone might complain and your team will forfeit the match 0-3. Many players know each other, and it's not hard to figure out if someone used an illegal player. Almost every team has a Veo/Trace now.

To answer your question, I personally don't know if the rule is enforced religiously, but I also don't know anyone who tried to cheat this rule.

Is he a GK? GK usually has some special exceptions.

Yeah, GK. And the way playdates are set up it will be one game after another on the same field. So it will be obvious.
Ignore what I said then. GK usually has more flexibility. If your coach said it's good, then it's probably good. You can also ask the GK parents in the Goalkeeper forum.

This is the club's first year in ECNL and I'm mostly worried about us showing up week 1 and the check-in app not working for the second game.

Be careful of an ignorant coach/director getting your teams in a jam. The game day rosters should be uploaded with the game reports. The same name on two different teams on the same day won't be hard to find. A lot of ECNL clubs will have multiple coaches on the sideline, with them watching overlapping games (the game before and or after their teams match), so there is a good chance the opposing club will notice.
