Orange County SC Kobi Henry signs with Stade de Reims

"A source with knowledge of the deal told ESPN that the transfer fee is around $700,000 "

The fact that they payed $700k for a young player in the USL is very impressive. Anyone know where he played prior to USL?

If Jonathan Gomez does well with Real Sociedad, this could be a health pipeline for USL teams. https://www.uslchampionship.com/new...onathan-gomez-to-join-la-liga-s-real-sociedad

Pretty cool to see USL kids get noticed in Europe.

A top division team no less.

I don't know Ligue 1 very well. I wonder if they'll play him or loan him out...

my understanding is Reims is known for developing/playing younger players and moving them upward, so it wouldn't surprise me if he does get some play time. But I don't know what their CB depth looks like. Tough to be a depth D-player. Not like forwards/mids that could get subbed in anytime. rarely see a defender subbed.

I remember a story from Rob Kiernan a few years ago, was talking about one of his first professional games, coach asked if he could play outside back and he said sure- never played outside back in his life, and apparently he was terrible at it. got chewed out after the game, but he was ready when the coach needed someone I guess.
