Looking for opinions on ODP specifically at the U11 level.

For families who’ve gone through it, how valuable did you find ODP at that age?

One thing I’m curious about is how people feel about a player missing team league games to attend ODP events or winter friendlies. In our case, the club coach is supportive, so that’s not an issue — I’m more interested in how others view the long-term tradeoff.

Ultimately, I’m proud of how hard my son works and want to support his love for the sport and his desire to compete, while also doing what’s best for his development.

enjoy the time , its a nice pat of confidence on the kids back, nothing will really come out of it besides that .

now if you don't make the cut at the camp they pick the ones that make it right there in front of everyone , so if your not picked, make sure the ride home is positive , I seen kids break with the parents riding them the whole way home

also who care what others think , soccer really starts as a team sport but as you get older , its all about personal development , and if you kids got it , they rise by/from themselves, and you will have to make that decision to leave your current group to elevate to the next group.

That's a fact

There will come a time that your team may actually be holding you back so who cares what they think.
