9 groups of 4 ... top 24 advance to 6 groups of 4 ... something like that.I'm curious to see how many teams each group will consist of.
So finishing second in your group doesn't guarantee advancingI was thinking 9 groups of 4 with 16 (group winners plus 7 wild cards) advancing to knockout.
Yeah, that's possible, too. Do they want to go straight to knockout (fewer games for the teams) that early when other brackets won't? That's the question...I was thinking 9 groups of 4 with 16 (group winners plus 7 wild cards) advancing to knockout.

Parents would hate the second weekend. Coaches would like playing more games against this level of competition. Everyone would hate going to Lancaster. Or Apple Valley.
National Cup bracket draw was changed from Dec 13 to Dec 15 .
1) In prior years bye's have been given to the top rated teams for the first round in U12 . With the low number of entrants and the difficulty of rating teams in a transition year it would appear giving bye's will not happen this year. Any other opinions ?
2) The National Cup rules state that seeding of brackets will be based " primarily " on the previous years National Cup results providing there are at least 9 players common on the current roster. Since 05's this year were on 04/05 U11 teams or 05/06 U10 teams last year , any insights or opinions as to how the seedings will be determined this year ? Seems this year more recent results would be much more accurate and fair to use for bracketing.
Won't be surprised if a blind draw is used this year. Seeding might not happen in the first round nor any bye's.
36 teams = 9 groups with 4 teams each. Top team each of the 9 groups + 7 wild cards advancing to Round of 16 which is the knockout round.
Shocker, they don't ever seem to hit the original date. It's a conspiracy, they know it pisses us off.National Cup bracket draw was changed from Dec 13 to Dec 15 .
