Most OVERRATED male singers of all time

Count me in as one who thinks Bono/U2 is overrated, not bad, just overrated.

Sub thread, Most overrated bands of all time:

Eagles (everyone else is a distant 2nd place)
U2 (mostly just Bono and Edge)
Rage Against the Machine (wtf kind of idiot wears a Che shirt and Morello is an insufferable human being)
Grateful Dead (too easy, I know. I think most people just like the logo and haven't actually heard the band)
Any prog rock band (is it just me, or can others hear prog rock in Bad Religion? Which if so, is the one instance where prog rock is bearable)

Reminder that I might be tone deaf, so take it with a grain of salt.
Oh shit... now it's on. Most overrated bands.

- The Eagles really do believe their music cures cancer. That's only if Celine Dion doesn't get their first. Love Walsh and Felder, though.
- Grateful Dead? SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT! I can't afford to get high enough to like them.
- I've always thought Pink Floyd was overrated but I can't honestly say I've heard all their stuff. I can't afford to get that high, either.
- Never thought Guns & Roses were as good as Axl thinks they are.
- The only thing worse than listening to The E Street Band for 3 hours is Bruce rambling alongside, with his Shih Tzu underbite, for 3 hours.

I will give you Joe Walsh, that's fair...I'm not that familiar with Felder. Please forgive me for neglecting to include Springsteen and his band on my list.

I'm ambivalent about Pink Floyd. GnR became overrated, but their first album and then the EP were solid. I also think they were very influential as a crossover band, bridging the gap between alternative/punk and hard rock. Grunge before there was grunge.

I don't know that I like Walsh as a singer as much as I like him as a dude. Felder isn't a great singer, either, but I think he got shafted and his version of "Heavy Metal" is one of my favorite tunes.

I agree that Guns was ground breaking but, when I think of their entire catalog, I'm not impressed. Maybe it's more about Axl being a drunk and making up excuses to walk out on their shows. If they brought us grunge, that's enough reason (for me) to hate them.

Alright... wild card here:

Michael McDonald. Sounds to me like a German Shephard, with a throat bubble and torn vocal chords, caught in a bear trap on Lake Arrowhead.

I like Michael McDonald, although he wont be in any of my top lists.

KISS. Actually take a few minutes to listen to Rock and Roll All Nite or Lick It Up. Crappy and repetitive lyrics.
All about the costumes. They may have been ground-breaking for some people. Now I sometimes listen to the
songs if they're on the radio just to remind me how bad they really are.
