League Play 06

Albion 1
SD Surf 0

Well played first half, both teams moved ball well. Surf hit one off the post, Albion scored on header off a corner Albion just missed getting 2nd at end of 1st while Surf had a nice cross opportunity go for not. 2nd half was a bit more physical and a lot more fouls and not as clean of a game. Surf had some decent shots but nothing really dangerous. Overall 2 well matched teams.

Looks like the ECNL league is a two horse race for 1st place. I know the LAFC team is coming together from a major core of the old CDA Salazar team and girls from Newport along with some key elements of girls from top ancillary teams. The fact that they have come together this fast speaks volumes of the level of players and coaching they have over there. Salazar has always been a great developer of players. Good luck to all moving forward.

Tbh, the league is not very strong. It’s a shame that all the top teams in SoCal aren’t playing against each other in league play.

Ain't that the true. If we were all given a pen and a blank paper two years ago, and were asked to draw up the most fxxxxx up structure possible for girls' leagues, I bet none of us would've been creative enough to come up with a scenario where Slammers, Blues play in one league, while Surf and Legends play in another.

A question for you 2006 DPL experts :). If your team traveled to Arizona this year, does that mean next year those Arizona teams come to SoCal to play your team instead? I thought I read somewhere that SoCal teams travel to Arizona every other year. Thanks.

Most of us 06's are novice to DPL’s format but thats how I nderstood it as well.

Not an expert, but I believe it is a Home and Away game for the DPL Teams next year (‘06 and up).

I think it depends on which age group you are talking about (and who knows how it will look next year). But for all age groups besides 06 I believe it was a home and away schedule lasting through the spring. You could predict something similar for 06 next year. If you are wondering about next years 07s a shorter fall schedule where you play everyone once seems likely. In any case, I know the youngest age group at our club traveled to AZ two years in a row within the shorter fall schedule.

Hi...if you look at the '05 and older Schedules for this year, it appears they will play 24 games total during the 18-19 Season. Home and away against each team, so there might be a trip to AZ each season. If they keep the same format in 19-20 that's what I would expect for next year at the '06 age group for DPL U14. Unless they make another change, i.e. 17-18 DPL Played only a 9 or 10 Game Season only I believe.

The 06 DPL Season is over for the most part. Most ended last weekend, there may another game or two outstanding. We were told no spring games games, fall league only. The 06 DPL Teams next year will be a different group as many of these teams/players will be moving to DA U14.
