LA Galaxy v. LAFC

That question will literally never make any difference to me personally, as my son is nowhere near good enough to ever play for any academy team, but hypothetically...

I've heard Galaxy is free (fee wise), and LAFC is not. So in my mind, that makes Galaxy "better". LAFC is slightly higher rated, though, which I suppose might matter if you were actually playing at that level.

LAFC Academy is also free for players

Since we’re all anonymous, what is the better academy?
From what I know LA Galaxy is superior in facilities, infrastructure and money available to Academy. LAFC also just went through a. Director change over the break so I assume they thought there were issues there to suddenly make such a change .

From a get an academy player to the pro level I also think Galaxy may lead there as there have been some recent success in that.

With that said, I pull for LAFC and they work hard there, have some quality coaches and it is really comparable.

Same for my kids, probably never gonna be good enough... but we've met a lot of people through different things over the years (camps, trainings, clubs, indoor) so we know a lot of kids who have been involved with both academies in different capacities....

Some have recently joined. Some have gone and come back. Some have done a long tryout cycle and gotten cut.

Almost all of them (who's looked at both... and some who have gotten offers at both) have chosen Galaxy. One, for the facility. LAFC did recently built their academy grounds a little bit away from Cal State LA but Galaxy has their whole compound right next to their senior team stadium. That facility is hard to beat...

I can't say anything about the coaching or anything like that but the ones we know who's at Galaxy seems to like it a lot.

It sounds like if you're good enough to have a choice... the current sentiment is that Galaxy is the clear choice to choose.

Again, not something many people even have to worry about. But it seems like that's the current tide.

I support whatever club doesn't have fat virgins facing the crowd and pounding drums for 2 hours.

Unfortunately, that isn't either of these clubs.

wow
My hometown supporters got to you tonight, huh?

Not a fan of the local supporters group.
Both politically and how they act.

But it was a heck of an opening night for our new franchise.

If you’re a goalie at either club I know both academy keeper coaches as they were teammates. You’re in good hands.
