Hilarious end to game at Man City Cup

While waiting for my son’s game on the same field, I watched the end of the previous game: The blue team (TFA, maybe?) were 1-0 down to the white team (Albion?) and needed a tie to go through.

There’s one minute left and white concede a freekick near the sideline. Everyone’s in the area, but this one kid on the white team gets super aggressive in marking his opposite blue. The blue kid calls the ref’s attention to it.

White does it again though, pretty much throwing blue to the ground. Blue, again, calls the ref’s attention to it.

Ref blows the whistle and the kick is taken. White shoves blue, blue flops theatrically and the ref blows for a penalty.

Blue miss the penalty but score on the rebound and the ref blows the final whistle. The aggressive kid starts pushing and shoving whatever blue he can find and gets a red card.

Single-handedly cost his team a place in the playoffs and to be fair, his Dad (I assume) told him as much as he tried to calm him down.

Hopefully learned his lesson.
