AI Overview

A "simp" is a slang term used to describe someone, usually a man, who is excessively attentive, submissive, or overly eager to please someone they are attracted to, often to the point where it appears desperate or lacking self-respect, typically with the expectation of gaining affection or a sexual relationship in return; essentially, someone who is seen as "trying too hard" to win someone's approval.

It is tough. Take the lead... drag it out to 10.

Lunch lady was an instant classic.

I really like Elton John but I think his singing is just above average.

Voices not entertainer or popular.

Luther Vandross
George Michael
Freddy Mercury
Nat king cole
Sinatra

Yeah, that's probably fair about Elton. Maybe it's more the songs than the voice.

... but I still don't get the hype with Sinatra.

I think we're missing some biggies:

- Robert Plant
- Jim Morrison
- Geddy Lee
- Geoff Tate
- Ronnie James Dio
- David Lee Roth
- Ozzy Osbourne
- Bono

So many more....
Plant... Tate... yes. I think Tate is way underrated, and so does he. Dio had a power rock voice. For that matter, so does Coverdale. Bono at different times.

I don't think any of the others are good singers, though, do you? Maybe good or iconic front men but, do you really like their voices?

I suppose Lee is an acquired taste, but 2112 was one of the best albums ever made -- I think if Plant is on the list, so is Lee. Ozzy from Black Sabbath to solo stuff was amazing. Roth was friggin legit. Maybe Morrison comes off the list -- I think I like the influence he had more than anything else.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Rush fan and his vocals don't diminish anything there. I just don't see him being a great singer. Like someone with a versatile or pleasing voice. That's all I meant.

I'll see and raise you on Robert Plant but Ozzy? Sorry... I don't get it. And Roth barely sings at all. I think Michael Anthony saved his ass. Roth was a legitimate front man but I never considered him a singer. Nobody else could do "Ice Cream Man" better, but Sammy is a singer. Morrison definitely had some style. Much like Bon Scott did.

Roth had amazing vocal range. I'd bet more than most. Ozzies voice was so unique -- I don't think there's been another singer like him.

All good rock and roll front men. Can they sing as well as George Michael no.

Phil Anselmo from pantera is a great front man. No one does metal like him ... but.. he is not a great singer. How I think of Roth, Ozzy and Sammy Hagar for that matter. They can sing their genre well but would not be good outside that.

Yeah but could George Michael sing like Phil? Not likely -- Pantera was amazing back in the day.

See, I put Sammy in a different category than Roth or Ozzy. Or Anselmo for that matter. Sammy can sing a ballad.

Ozzy? I think we all like Ozzy as much for his personality as anything else. He's that self deprecating kid, in class, that would just make you laugh.
