Who wins the new open division soccer this year. Does Xavier continue to dominate?

Not sure what Hamilton is repeating, isn't Xavier going for 4 in a row? Hamilton have also lost 2 out of 3 games so far!

We won't really know until mid Jan how its shaking up.

yea you are right.. forgot who won last year. We lost to Hamilton so where it ended for me. Thought Basha and Xavier would be more powerful than ever.

I don't think Xavier has the 1-2 stand out players this year, but I don't know if anyone else has either. They are the only school who probably has 20 ECNL/GA players on their roster, so they should be solid 1-11, but do they have a difference maker. I was surprised they lost 4-2 to Boulder Creek, but whatdoIknow!
 
I am a follower of mighty 3A soccer, so 6A is not my forte, but Boulder Creek has beat the X-women, Basha and Casteel to start the season. That ain’t nothing to laugh at
 
Any one know what conference Xavier are in? AZpreps shows them in 6a Central and Maxpreps show them in 6a Premier.
 
OK serious question.. are the refs in the bag for the big teams? Watched Xavier and Perry and both got calls due to coaches yelling and players falling. I would like to see the stats on how many goals from the "big" teams are from the penalty spot. Perry literally had a girl spin and fall with no contact and draw a foul then got a PK for handball when the defenders arm was at her side because the three giant coaches on the Perry bench complained. Then their defender brings a girl down from behind .. last defender... no red for clear scoring chance but a yellow and free kick. Its ridiculous... its not like these teams don't have skilled players, they don't need another finger on the scale.
 
Things are getting interesting now the Perry and Boulder Creek lost. Who is the new number 1. What are the two teams in the state final. I’ll go with Boulder Creek and Xavier in a rematch.

I'd say its more open, Perry's one loss is to Casteel, who has one loss to Boulder Creek, who just lost to Pinnacle (who have 3 losses!). Xavier's one loss is to Boulder Creek (but they beat Pinnacle narrowly), but they don't play Perry or Casteel in regular-season play.

In short, I don't see who the favorites are but it would appear to be between Perry, Xavier, Casteel & Boulder Creek. So it may depend on the draw ...

yea.. Xavier got the worse draw off the bat with Sandra and Liberty but now ... they should easily beat Crismon while the others face stiffer competition

Yeah. I heard Xavier was banged up after the SDOC game, losing 2 starters. It becomes health and depth of roster at this point.
 
We reach the end and it is the same teams. Feel bad for Crismon, probably had a decent shot in the 4A bracket but ended the season in a beat down. The open division isn’t fair for the 4A and most of the 5A.

Xavier pulled all of the starters early so they are well rested going against a team that had to fight through two overtime’s. They are also supposed to be back to full strength from the early injuries.

I’m going with Perry on the other side, they have more playoff experience.

Yea familiar names in that top bracket. Casteel the surprise this year and Hamilton going out early. Boulder Creek seems to have injuries as they are barely beating teams they were destroying early in the year. Basha gave them a run for their money. The DV vs Sandra Day game should be interesting in 6A. Xavier at home is tough. They are used to playing on the short field and it gives them an advantage.

Casteel looked very comfortable against NDP, and they have the home draw and have beaten Perry already this season.

Xavier at home should have too much for Boulder, but Boulder tonked them earlier this season.

I'll go with Casteel vs Xavier in the final, but would not be surprised by a Perry vs Boulder 🤷‍♂️.
