Girls Academy 2 Finally Coming!

Moving forward where does DPL fall into all of this would they now be the feeder program for " aspire "
And do they require clubs to fill GA with a back up Aspire and a DPL team? Not to mention a DPLO team.

Here are my thoughts....

Rangers FC gets promoted to GA

Aspire will be all the SW GA team plus Central Coast, plus 2 other clubs to make it around 10 teams.....If aspire wanted to do it right, they would allow promotion relegation between Aspire and DPL. If a GA club 2nd team is under performing why should they take a coveted Aspire slot. The problem with this is it would have to be the entire club at all the age groups.

DPL will essentially turn into a 3rd tier league putting it on par with NPL. I going to say not many of the GA/Aspire clubs could support the DPL with 3rd teams so it will be full of a bunch of random clubs and my guess is will be 10-12 teams....

If all the SW GA Teams get aspire then that is already 11 teams, plus rangers if they get full GA (I think they still could get put into Aspire first) and then plus central coast would be 13. Would they add another to make it an even number I wonder.

Aspire teams are being announced daily and there are no surprises until now.
Rangers FC is not one of them, so far..

GA still making announcements on new clubs....

Aspire slowly leaking teams....SW conference for Aspire will not include AZ clubs is my guess

CFA is an absolute head scratcher for ASPIRE? Aside from their 2006/2007 all the other teams are MID....

What an airball..

Yea the CFA 06/07 team is really good, they won out in the recent DPL Florida event. Aspire is taking all the top end DPL teams now. Two from AZ so far.. SC Del Sol and Phoenix Premier. Premier has had multiple teams at DPL national playoffs for the last 3 years. Del Sol frequently wins their GA division so they are a lock.

So far what we know....

GA - Fullerton Rangers added which is well deserved and earned

League sits at 12 teams, 10 from SW and 2 from AZ

Aspire - City Sd, SDSC, Albion SD, FRAM, LA Surf, Santa Barbara, So Cal Reds - 7 GA Clubs 2nd teams

New Add - CFA given, not earned - DPL Standings 06/07 - 1st, 2008 - 12th, 2009 - 6th, 2010 -11th, 2011 - 9th, 2012 -8th

Been in DPL for under 2 years and not won anything, my guess is they may be replacing West Coast who have yet to be announced for Aspire

Aspire has room for 2-3 more clubs, from the announcement it appears that not all GA clubs will be admitted...

Guessing another Aspire batch comes out today

Will also add I think SB deserves admittance, good club that has been doing it right in the league for years. Alway lose players to Eagles ECNL so I think them getting into ASPIRE will help them keep their good local players....

Hellish commute shaping up so far for Aspire - 3 SD clubs, 2 OC clubs, 2 LA clubs and Santa Barbara

Isn't that roughly what DPL had?
No, as the league was 16 teams you would play 8/7 home games and rotate away games, meaning Albion Sd only had to go to SB every other year...Now I think the Aspire league will be 10-11 teams with each club playing an 18-20 game season with home and aways with all the clubs.

Gotcha.

Also things affect folks at the respective “poles” - ie San Diego to the south and Santa Barbara to the north - more so than a team more “centrally” located in LA whose commute is never above 2 & 1/2 hours regardless of opponent.

I guess just a chance to embrace all that “family bonding time,” right? 😂 For me, I make the most out of any trip to SD or OC to go to Wahoos since they’ve closed nearly all LA County locations. 😋

Sand and Surf announced for Aspire adding another LA team. Also Arizona SC.

Curious about West Coasts future. They are really struggling in the 13s, 14s, and 15s. Lost 4-5 teams in those ages to Reds when Gil left.

Another head scratcher from the gals and Gents at the GA/DPL....

1 year ago today Sand and Surf had only NPL. They have been in DPL for not 1 full season and now get added to help continue to saturate the South Bay. Best go to Beach, some go to FRAM, and now this announcement leaves the to battle for 2nd tier players with FRAM Aspire & Beach ECRL.

Current DPL rankings - 2012 - 3rd, 2011 - 11th, 2010 - 2nd, 2009 - 7th, 2008 - 9th, 2006/07 - 14th

1 age group that will qualify for DPL National Playoffs and this was enough to capitulate them in ASPIRE.....definitely GIVEN and not EARNED!

With the addition of more AZ clubs it definitely feels the like SW Aspire division will only have so Cal teams....

In the south bay it's Beach ECNL first. Second tier is Beach ECRL, Fram GA or players leave for Breakers/Slammers ECNL. Aspire and other teams are third tier.

If you take a step back and look at how things are going with GA it's obvious to me that girls ECNL could have easily setup a Socal only league without Vegas or AZ.

The good part about all this is that there's more options for kids to play. Also it will force clubs to actually develop their own players and be nicer to them so they don't get poached.
