Games of the Week

This ladder is loaded in the top half
All the top teams are in the top
Bottom half only Surf select
Looks like it was set up to have
Surf in the final.
My opinion

I agree. You basically have a Flight 1 bracket up top and a Flight 2 bracket on the bottom besides Surf. Horrible by CalSouth.

FC Premier B05 Chavez Black will do their best to pull off the most unlikely upset of the year. We felt we should have been placed in flight 1 this year but SCDSL placed us in flight 2. No one saw us winning the Players Cup in the summer but we beat Slammers Nualart 2-0 in the final. We are new to this level of competition and clearly an underdog. We are dreaming big dreams and hoping to pull off Leicester City type of tournament. No matter what happens tomorrow we will continue to improve our game and try to compete with the best.

Your team beating Surf would be a big upset and accomplishment. And if you pull it off you should be very proud of your team .

However IMO a bigger upset would be anyone beating strikers #1 . They have not lost to a team in their age bracket this year . They almost won the Celtic cup 04 age bracket beating a top ranked 04 team in the process. They easily beat a very tough Albion 4-0 last week. Every team has not so good games , but when they do they still find a way to win . They just seem unbeatable .

Final 8th teams.
1.Irvine Strikers1
2.Irvine Strikers2
3.Surf Academy Sd
4. Legends
5. LA United Academy
6. Albion
7.Spartans F.C.Pumas
8. Celtic Harps Academy

Should be a interesting quarterfinals next week. Can't wait. Im going with the underdog Celtic!!!!!

I actually think Celtic have a very good chance to reach the finals if they get by Surf. I think that will be a close game and if Celtic can win, they have a shot.

I agree with you. Celtic has a great team with a tremendous coach. It will be a close game, but it will all come down to whoever wants it more! Let's go Celtic!!!

Only issue with Celtic is that they tend to take care of business against teams they should beat but have failed to beat any top teams this year. Maybe they get over the hump this weekend?

Thanks for the feedbacks about my Celtic team.

FYI:

My 2005 team started exactly one year ago, when we had to split teams due the age bracket rule. Due a quality of players and the coach background we granted the gold level according CSL. Since then, we had try to compete vs top teams everywhere we go. Obviously, there are many good teams out there with deepest chemistry and therefore, more stable. We never minimize or magnify anyone, all teams are focused with the same lens.
National cup is the best tournament we all can play. We are excited to play Surf as we were vs BF310.
Ball is round and championship can land unpredictably anywhere. So far so satisfied.
Congrats to Legends over Slammers and LAUFA over LA Galaxy. Good games

Very well said about the 2005 celtic team. They have not been together that long and i believe they are peaking at the right time. I believe they will get over hump.

Although, your statement has some truth in it. I still believe Celtic is a top class team. For them to only be together for 1 year and accomplish what they have have done, it's amazing. Soccer is full of surprises, and I believe there will be many surprises this upcoming weekend!

Get over the "only been together for one year" schtick. With the age group change that applies to almost all of these teams. Having most of their team together for several years is one of the reasons Strikers are doing so well. But for everyone else 9-12 months after these teams were formed they are no longer new teams getting to know each other. It is not an excuse for bad performance, nor a reason to celebrate good performance.

You must know soccer. Are you a coach?

Strikers made a serious statement with their 5-0 drubbing of a very solid Boca squad. Legends did as well with a 4-0 thrashing of Slammers. These two look tough to beat. Curious to see if Laufa can test Strikers, and Legends gets a chance to avenge an early season loss to Albion. That should be a battle.

I agree, very strong teams with very high expectations, but wouldn't you like to see upsets?

Every team had their own situation back when we split. Some teams kept the team number (rank) and or most of the players, some got players from other teams within the same club and didn’t suffer much, some others started from nothing. I am not excusing anybody or putting someone in a pedestal. I just mentioned my team case.

I would like to know from which team are you coming from, to get a better idea of your statement
